I've said for years that for these coddled, clueless, wealthy wannabe communists, it should be mandatory for them to spend a summer internship in Havana, Caracas, Bejing or Pyongyang just so they have a taste of the reality they espouse before they're welcomed into the club with their hammer and sickle pin.

I think there would still be a problem - they would immediately claim those are not "proper" communist/socialist countries.

I get what you're saying. But I think the contrary, it would give them a dose of reality, something they know nothing about. Communism ain't pretty when you live it, only from the outside looking in.

My “Florida Daughter” went to laHabana when it was briefly legal to visit Cuba a few years ago. She was told to take an entire large suitcase of TOILET PAPER, which is unavailable there, and is used as currency.

While there, in their largest City, both running water and electricity were intermittent in her tourist hotel.

Something odd about those campus tent encampments. Almost all the tents are identical - same design, same size, same fresh-out-of-the-box appearance.

Which suggests that rather than an organic process, whereby students would bring a variety of individual tents, someone or some organization has supplied them and organized the event.

I think it would be instructive if we can determine who that someone is.

Because rather than spontaneous demonstrations, these are choreographed events by hidden actors - and the students, sincere though they may be, are merely manipulated props.
