    Hello everyone.
New to this site, not to firearms.
Wandered in from TX Gun Trader and it's nice to see so many locals on this forum.

I've been shooting off and on for around the last 10 years.
Purchased and sold many firearms for various reasons over the years and had a few keepers that I still regret having sold :banghead:- I bet nobody here has ever made that mistake before-LOL.

I haven't been nearly as active with the range sessions as I used to be due the the ever rising cost of enjoying this hobby.
I purchased the wife a Sig226 many years ago, which she loves, but she doesn't want to hit the range too frequently, so I don't get there too much myself anymore. The last visit to the range was pretty sad.
I suppose it could be worse though- a bad day shooting is better than a good day at work.
I guess with the cost of ammo these days, it is about time to meet up with a few locals to:
    a) hit the range more frequently to exercise a little trigger control, and b) maybe pick up some pointers on reloading such as equipment and literature that would aid in such a feat.

I hope that I can meet some of you locals and be a productive member of this forum for some time to come.
You folks have a great weekend.

    C.

    Howdy, indeed!

    Noob,

Just wonder where you shoot; I find myself at Eagle Peak at least twice a month, most months, for 250-400 rounds, about half rimfire, half centerfire (mostly handguns). It WAS weekly until late summer, when the costs finally went out of control.

If you are unacquainted, Eagle Peak is near Cedar Park:

Very nice outdoor place. Red's in Pflugerville is nice, too, when weather makes the outdoors less hospitable.

I haven't been to Eagle Peak. Been wanting to get out there but I haven't made it yet since I have been trying to convince the wife to go with me .
Part of the issue I have been having is that the Pflugerville Red's (which is 5 minutes from the house), up until recently, was iffy at best. Getting your target to 100 yards and back was questionable and the lighting left something to be desired. Any lane other than #13 had terrible shadows right through the center of the target and the sagging lines would launch a 223 completely off of the paper.
Went a couple weeks ago and it appears that they have resolved these issues though- which I am happy about. There were just so many issues that I pretty much stopped going. Now that these problems are rectified, I need to get back more frequently. I was shooting at least once a week but haven't shot more than 1x in the last 3 months- so much for trigger control.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

So, texascop2... I saw you post in another thread about a 400 yd. range somewhere in the brush country. Care to pass along that info, either privately or publicly, assuming it is not on private property?

    Atascosa Rifle and Pistol Club-
4 miles south of Jourdanton on Hwy 16.
Lightly used local range, mainly used by hunters around here, although our department pays for or memberships and we train there.
Everything is outdoors. There are about 10 lanes, with concrete tables and corrogated tin roof over your head...pretty basic.
