I gotta say putting a FO or tritium front sight is a huge improvement over the stock bead and goes a long way toward making the shotgun more effective.

Got a few other extras I'm planning on doing, will post pics when I finish.

It looks like you have done pretty well so far. What are you planning on adding?

I found a Pachmayr Vindicator at the local shop and gave it a try. To make a long story short, I went back and bought another one.

Hey Jeff that top 88 is the security 7+1 model right?

I don't know whether converting my field model into an HD Gun would be too much of a hassle.

Maybe I should just buy the security model instead. I mean I have been looking around for a shorter barrel and the cheapest 18.5 barrel I found was $99.

Honestly, if it were me, i'd cut that barrel down to 18.5. It just depends on how you look at it. Just because its a cheaper gun dosen't mean you can't spend alot on extras. On the other hand, if you bought the gun because you are on a budget, like me, then go for the cheapest upgrades. Other than the barrel, most upgrades are around $30-$50 depending on what you want. I'd cut that barrel with a hacksaw right at 18.5 so your legal with a smile.

I thought about cutting it. The barrel is a field barrel though and it has that ventilated rib on it and I think it would end up looking like a hack job.

This is my CD Maxi Mag, 12ga. It came setup for turkey season, but alas I missed the season. I mounted the sights and sling later (not pictured). It shoots great and I like the realtree camo pattern on this brand of gun. I had never shot 3.5" before and this one kicks like two mules, but its still less than a Mossberg 935. I don't like how 3.5" doesn't handle low brass, which is why I am going to buy a 3" Superior II soon in 12ga and a 20ga for my wife (who wants to hunt also). I do like the major "BOOM" 3.5" shells make. Always gets me a private section at the range after a few rounds.

Still have to decide on what rifle I need, but that's another forum... lol

It's not pretty, but it'll get the job done. Mossberg 500 Persuader 6-shot, pump-action, 12 ga., 3" chamber. Nothing says "Get out of my house" like the sound of 00 buck being chambered. I'm looking for a fitted buttstock shell-holder to replace the walmart special elastic one. Any suggestions?
