Please contact your State Representatives and politely ask them to sign on as co-authors to HB 267 and HB 410.

H.B. 267 This legislation deals with purchasing rifles and shotguns in non-contiguous states.

H.B. 410 This legislation repeals the requirement that when stopped by law enforcement a Texas concealed handgun licensees display their license when carrying their handgun.

I have issues understanding why 410?? Whether it's anyone business that I am or am not carrying, LE as well, if I'm stopped for a traffic violation and when the LEO runs my TDL and also see's that I'm a CHL holder, the LEO is sitting in their car thinking about how they will approach my vehicle now, since who knows, I could be a CHL holder turned nut job.

Maybe it's just me, I just think if we use common sense and respect each other, we'll build trust and all be happy. I don't mind giving my CHL to an officer, and as most all will agree, right not it makes sense to present it along with your TDL as SOP.

We all just need to play nice.

410 will give some CHL holders, the ones with the chip on their shoulder, a reason to withhold as much as they can and create uncomfortable situations then scream "rights violation" when the LEO comes up with his weapon drawn, or they sit there until BU shows up because the LEO isn't comfortable.

I think it's one of those things that's a waste of time. Most CHL holders won't change how they interact with LEO's anyway.

Why would a LEO "show up" with a weapon drawn when he sees your CHL on your DL return. Having a CHL and being armed are not illegal, nor are they a threat to the officer.

Cops I know assume everyone has a gun anyway.

Because it could happen. Not all LEO's feel the same way and every situation is different. 3 AM stop on a deserted stretch of HWY might make a newish LEO more nervous. If they didn't see that the person also has a CHL when they run a DL, it would be different. Of course, if everyone assumed everyone was armed, we'd all be in a happy state of mutual trust.

I think you answered your own question,

but a person without a CHL is not required to notify a LEO he is carrying Ok, I see the point that non-CHL holders don't have to, so why should we argument.

If the law does not require, why would it annoy the LEO?
