Have never tried to conceal such a big gun. Perhaps something for inside the waist band, or SOB. I will consider anything. Looks not important.
    Reasonable price is important.
    Thanks

I have no problem concealing a 1911 with a Comp-Tac Minotaur. Extremely comfortable. Also check out Smart Carry for even deeper concealment.

A lot of people conceal full sized 1911's every day. While my Kimber Compact is easier, I also carry a Pro which has 1" shorter barrel and that's it. It's all steel and is about the same weight as a full size.

The key is the whole system. The belt is probably the most important for comfort and support. A gun belt, not just a thick leather belt.

Most people that try IWB for the first time end up trying a few before they find what works best. If you buy good quality leather, while the wait might be long, if it doens't work for you, it's easy to sell for at least what you paid, if not more. Some cases much more such as the Milt Sparks VMII.

Examples of good quality wide loop holsters
Milt Sparks VMII You can also contact a few of their retailers that sometimes get them in. Lightning Arms Sports Sig Sauer Parts, Wilson Combat parts and magazines, Meprolight Night Sights, Sig Sauer magazines, SureFire Flashlights, Sig Sauer night sights, H&K magazines and parts, Glock parts and accessories, Glock magazines, 1911 magazines parts, gunsmithing t or Allan Yoast 512/426-0027 Email: A4T5FAN@AOL.COM who is also here in Texas.
Brommeland MaxConV (much thinner and more comfortable and what is my daily carry) You can again order dorect from Gary or go through it only retailer who stocks Service Grade (not as much boning detail, but is as much of more than most others) http://www.coalcreekarmory.com/

Or try a local DFW guy who does not have the back log most do, and are priced very low compared to the others. And I've never heard a complaint yet. NM Holsters - Home His #1 is the same wide look style that more resembles a Brommeland.

Best bet os to order the holster and a belt for the same maker. However, The Beltman makes some awesome belts that you can order, custom or not, and have within a month. Jim is a great guy to deal with and his prices for non-exotic belts are less than the other makers. I'f got 2 of his belts and may be ordering another soon.

There are a lot more out there including Del Fatti, Alessi, Nossar and others, but wait times are very long. Nossar usuauly has things brought into the US by a friend who travels back and forth so shiping is quick once he has what you ordered. His stuff is some of the most unique and thin since he as access to hides that US makers can't get. He may not say what he can get, but it's suspected that he has access to the front quater horse hide that US makers jujst can't get any more. It's the super tough, thin hide that used to be used for motorcyclejackets back in the day. If you can find one now, you'd probbaly be looking at a $1000+ jacket.

BTW the holster makers I mentioned are all what I'd consider some of the top in the industry. There may be others and many that are close, but these guys make functional art.

I use the Smart Carry holster and it's concealed pretty well. First time I tried it on, my wife couldn't tell I was carrying. I carry a Springfield 5" GI 1911A1 in their Security V with no problems. Just takes a few hours to a couple of days to get used to. Gotta practice drawing too. Go to Youtube and search for some videos. Plenty on there.

Wow, that is quite bizarre looking. How is retention? Is it leather lined or just Kydex?

Only kydex encloses the weapon. The kydex is attached to the leather backing and so are the clips. Retention can be zero to it will not come out. It all depends on how much you adjust the retiention screw.
