I'm not sure how many of you frequent the TX gun trader site, but over the last month or so, it's become a stockpile of half-assed guns for the low low price of one quarter the national debt.

I saw a very nice .357 last night probably worth $600 and the seller wants $1700. I know everyone is Obama paranoid, but geeze, man.

Not a ton of bargains lately, but there are several "Jokes of the day".

That's nothing. The Dan Wesson pistol pack, in .357. In 2002, it was sold with a MSRP of $1369...........the person is asking $11,000........and it has been shot a couple hundred rounds.

Hey, maybe somebody will buy it. If so, I'd like to sell that person some guns too.

I'm tired of seeing prices like that on guns that aren't even worth half the asking price, and you know some moron will pay it too.

I've been wanting an AR-series rifle for a few years now, but with the prices going through the roof, I won't even think twice about not buying one. They're completely over-pricing these "Assault" weapons, which IMO are just a fun range rifle which would be my use for it.

Right on Mannnnnnn (visualize right arm raised in a fist)
Vote with your feet, or mouse if you are online. Click away. The panic will end someday and these folks will never get their money back. I vote to wait it out and buy nothing. And I want an AR so bad I can taste it.
Also, What is it with people who buy guns and shoot them exactly 100 or 200 times then sell them? Its a waste of range fees for anything less than 200 rounds per gun. If the gun is not abused 100 or 1000 is not going to look any different.

Well, it's my money and my guns, and what I do with them is nobody else's business.

I didn't mean that pejoratively, just making a point. ;)

pejoratively????? I had to repeat that twice before I looked it up to see what it meant. I have never heard it pronounced. I now know what it means, but a few minutes ago If someone yelled it at me, It would been fist city..HAHA

It is entertaining to see those prices, for us. We assume they are overpriced and those that pay the price will never recoup the money. It's only an issue if you happen to want one of those items and are not able/willing to pay the asking price.

What if, just what if, next year Obama bans the these items......then would today have been a fair price? It all depends on the future.

I don't know what he will do, I don't think he'll do anything soon. He has certainly allowed some folks to sell their guns at a nice profit. He has actually helped the industry so far, considering the panic buying we are still seeing everywhere.

I am not too good at using "big words" but for some reason, that particular word has stuck with me for many years.

I have annual training coming up with my national guard unit in July, so hopefully nothing drastic happens before the end of my AT. I'm using my AT money for an AR-15 series rifle. I have an armorer at my unit that's willing to teach me how to build it from ground up so that's going to be cool. I've torn them down for training purposes but I have never taken one down to piece by piece yet, so that will be an awesome learning experience, and seriously can't be that difficult.
