If you will take $600 for all 31 boxes .45 GAP ammo I will get the Money Order as soon as I get the opportunity and get it mailed to the address listed below. I don't suppose that you are interested in buying a couple of springfield armory xd .45 GAP's are ya. I will pay a little closer to the caliber I bid on in the future. Thanks for the quick response. This will keep me stocked for quite some time. JDP

Mr. Baboon, I am reconsidering the purchase of your GAP ammo. I found the same ammo at sportsmans guide for $19.92 per box with the member discount and $20.97 regular price per box with no minimum. The S/H will be the only difference in price. If you will make a better deal then I would still be interested in buying all you have. I am not trying to gouge you, I am just trying to buy the best deal. I hope you can understand. Thanks JDP

My response to this mental giant

I've had it 2 years now, it aint going to go bad. With our Commander in Chimp in office I can see it becoming worth more. I've even thought about pulling the bullets for my .45 acp. I don't blame you for shopping for price. The $2.48 you save can buy you a gallon of gas. Shipping might go $20.00 - $30.00 because of the weight involved.

I stand buy the price I posted. If they fall through let me know

When making a purchase, you should check around for comps and decide if the price is fair (good?) or if you really want the item. Once you make an offer and it's accepted, that should be your contract.

I agree about the issue in general and it seems to be happening more and more lately, usually with new forum members. (not just this but others) It's like people join to buy something, but aren't serious and what the hell, they just joined an have nothing to loose.

And people wonder why I'm such a stickler about forum classifieds. I kind of have a standing rule about selling to folks that are brand new like that. They aren't always first in line no matter when they stake claim.

I would suggest though, edit out the guys name and email. I'd really hope you didn't do that intentionally even though he posted his name an cell number. Don't contribute to his common sense short comings.

No it was not intentional. Posting it in his local county jail as get out of jail free could be fun!

Being new here myself, I can understand the apprehension some might feel in dealing with a person who is basically unknown. Maybe a person shouldn't be allowed to post a for sale or try and purchase until they have contributed to the forum for a set period of time. And establish a reputation. Just a thought. I would rather deal with an individual first to help out a fellow enthusiast, even if the price is slightly higher. IMHO.

I really do not think post count has anything to do with purchases. If you are looking & it's what you find why not check it out.

I think this guy might need to rethink if his name was really worth $2.48. I have never bought anything from Sportsman's Guide, but my bet is shipping is more them $2.48.

Am I really pissed off? No. I really don't know this guys finances. I know he has two pistols he would like to sell. I'll bet selling them pistol is a worse deal the dealing with this ammo. I just figured to let everyone to be aware of him.

It's been hashed through and while I agree, once you add restrictions, you have to be able and willing to enforce them, and people get pissed about things like that, then get pissed when they get had and the rules weren't enforced to protect them.

I really do not think post count has anything to do with purchases. If you are looking & it's what you find why not check it out.

I also agree post count alone doe nothing. Look what happened here when there was a post count rule. People jumped in the thread with the rules and post whores stupid crap just to get their post count up. Many got it up to where it needed to be, did their business and disappeared.

Another forum I'm on has pretty strict rules which makes it the best classified forum I've found. There are people that buy and sell and ship before payment, trust personal checks etc. but it's taken time. But lately, it's new folks screwing it up. Where there's never any issues, for example a new person posted a WTB which is not restricted, a new person replied and in the end it turns out both are from another forum, one has already scammed the other as well as trying to sell something that he does not own legally. Because there are rules, there needs to be more rules to make the first rules effective in these new times of people crawling forums with no intention of exercising any integrity at all.

Off the sop box. Back to waffles! :p

Y'all make some very good points. Like I said, being new here myself, I was a little apprehensive to reply to this thread not knowing the complete history of the forum. Thanks for your explanations.
