    150 WWB 115gr. FMJs - No failures

50 Hornady TAP 147gr JHPs - No failures (But man that hurt my wallet)

I am really glad I chose 9mm because of the amount of shooting I knew I was going to do...

So only 1 FTE out of 1,165 rounds and counting...

I got to handle a Cougar yesterday at a grand opening acadamy. It felt a lot like a beretta to me. What is up with the funky finish on the slide? It felt like fullgloss paint or something

I just put 250 more rounds through the gun today.

    230 were WWB 115gr. FMJs.

15 were Hornady TAP 147gr. JHPs.

5 were Hand loaded Golden sabers from another gentleman that I met today at the range.

I had 2 FTEs when running the 115gr. through it. I FTE once I cleared it shot once more and then it FTE again. So it jammed, shot, and jammed again.

It was around rounds 130 to 140 when the failures happened. Ran flawlessly after that no lubing cleaning of anything.

I was dreading that my gun would indeed need new sights. Today two random people that I met at the range today shot my gun and both were shooting tight groups @ 7yds that were low.

This makes it five people total who have shot my gun and have shot low.

I changed my sighting method and placed the front sight higher than the rear sights and I was shooting what I wanted to hit.

If I level out the sights it shoots low if I raise the front sight above rears it shoot great. What does this mean? do I need higher rear sight or lower front sight?

Oh and the Hand Loaded Golden Sabers were freaking awesome! 124gr. Golden Saber loaded hot and my groups were tighter than with the other rounds.

If the gun is ever to be used for SD, I'd think that lower would be better than higher (less snagging).

I figured out how to shoot the gun. I have to "dot the i" instead of lining up the sights.

So I definitely think the sites are messed up.

Just so we're clear, I was recommending a lower front sight as opposed to a higher rear sight.

    Yeah I understood you.

I was just explaining that in order to hit where I want it to I have to "dot the i" instead of lining up and leveling the sights.(Basically I learned how to shoot my gun even though it is off)

I want to put a set of trijicon night sights on it soon so hopefully the get put on right.

What some folks have done in that situation, that did not want to spend any money but adjust the sights- using a file to shorten the front sight should help. (Unless the front sight is so hard that a file won't cut it.)

Or unless the sights are a three dot setup...

What I have noticed with my three dot sights, is that if I am sighting at something bright, then I can not see the dots, only the black outline of the sights, but if I am sighting at something dark, then I can only see the dots.

Three dot sights are great handgun sights!

I don't have the glow in the dark night sights, but I sure would like to have a set of those too.

My eyesight has gotten to such a point where I am starting to think about laser sights for my home defense handguns. I have night sights on several of them, and they're getting a bit blurry. I think this is one of those times where a laser would be more effective than even illuminated sights.

Yes, I have to not only get my handgun into a good position, but have to have my head at the correct angle so that I can see the sights in my bifocals.
