Not an owner, but I'm a technician who works on just about everything.

I haven't seen any real problems with these trucks. It's a Toyota, which means it's well-built. Enjoy!

I have an 05 that I've put close to 120k mi on. I've had to replace a window regulator. They're great trucks and I wouldn't worry about the mileage.

This is good to hear. I was a technician with a Dodge dealer for 3 years and then a couple independent shops for about 3 more years. I have driven Dodge Rams for a long time. I know when I worked at the independent shops we only ever saw Tundras and Tacomas for routine maint. services. My last Ram served me well though. I sold it Friday with 170,XXX miles on it and it was still running good minus the good old crumbling dash board . it was single cab though and I have 2 kids now. I know what you mean about the Hemis! It shocked a lot of customers when it was tune up time and 16 spark plugs were needed!!! LOL

The Toyota Tundra's are excellent vehicles. They're well made. However the older model Tundra's are not exactly very fuel efficient with the 4.7L V8. You'll average 15city/18highway. If I were you I'd look into a 2nd generation Tundra with the 5.7L V8 and the 6 speed automatic transmission. I own a 2008 Tundra Double Cab 4x4 with the 5.7L V8 6 speed tranny and I'm averaging 17.3mpg city/23.7mpg highway. The 2nd generation Tundras are bigger and roomier than the first generation models, and are built in Texas. The first generation model Tundras were built in Texas also, but were still using more parts from Japan than the new Tundras. Also new for 2010 is a 4.6L V8 which replaces the 4.7L V8. The 4.6L V8 is being used along with the new 6 speed automatic transmission. The new engine is supposed to make more Horsepower and Torque than the 4.7L V8 and is supposed to also be more fuel efficient.

I ended up getting the truck. AWESOME vehicle. it is a full size, but not really. I like that. I am not fond of full size 4 door trucks. They usually take away bed length to get 4 doors, or they leave the bed length and the overall length is way to long for me. I did not even consider the new Tundras due to one thing...moeny. I paid cash for this 2001 and have no car payment. I did drive a new Tundra twice, once at the Houston Supercross and another at a drive and ride event at 3 palms motocross track. They are nice, but I am not fond of car payments and I did not have enough cash.

I've got an 01 Tundra Access Cab myself with 122.xxx and I love it. Lots of power when you need it. Maybe not as much as new one, but it's got plenty for everything I've ever thrown at it. And if you want, find a supercharger and have enough power to beat the new Tundras. ;) In town, mine will get consistently 15+ mpg if going more than a few miles. Unfortunately most of my in-town trips are less than 2 miles so I'm averaging 10+ mpg usually. Highway, I regularly see 18+ and even 20+ on longer drives. And I live in the hill country. When I was living down in Houston last year, I'd consistently see 20+ on the highway. It's a good truck. Do regular maintenance and it'll do whatever you ask of it.

    Get yourself a Sugar Momma

    Nice truck Lone.

Thanks, just hit 18k on it this past weekend. Its been a great truck so far, not a single problem with it. Average 15mpg city/23.7 highway. 5.7L V8 4x4. MPG's have gone down slightly with the warmer weather I'm using the AC a bit more not to mention driving around in the hills using the 4WD.
