    Hey everyone,
Just got my rifle the other day, I need to take it to the range and get it zeroed. After that I'd like to start by hunting feral pigs. Anyone know of an area to hunt wild pigs up around The Woodlands?

    TIA

I lived in The Woodlandsfor almost 10 yrs and moved about 1 1/2 ago. There are plenty of hogs and other game in around. You will have to find some private land and get permission, no, public property. Lots of game in the back, Spring Creek if I remember correctly, off 2978 all the way to I-45. Lots of tree huggers live there. I got the local constabulary called on me twice after I moved there for shooting my RWS air rifle in my back yard.. I lived in Grogans Mill. I remember a few years ago, the residents back in the newer sections near Falconwing complaining in the paper about the coyote population coming up and eating the cats, dogs, etc. People, " there is a reason they call it The Woodlands", you have encroached on thier territory. I have seen deer grazing on the I-45 feeder down around Spring Creek. Closest I saw, was several deer crossing Woodlands Parkway @Grogans Mill, headed toward the pavilion.
    Good Luck

Thanks for the info Cowboy. I usually go up Gosling (narrow 2-lane road) all the way from FM2920 to Research Forest. Lots of wildlife on that drive! Possums, skunk, squirrels, deer, coyotes, but never seen a hog. They must be further "in" the brush.

I looked at one of those the other day, how does it shoot?
This is my 1st personal rifle (shot a lot of guns in the Army 20+ years ago). I just put a Cross Point 4-16x40 scope on it and I'm looking for a soft case for it. The scope's elevation/windage knobs make it really hard to zip up the zipper on some of those lower-end cases.
