I've noticed that the forum can never seem to accurately (or maybe it is more accurate, not sure what your intention for it is). remember new posts. One click on 'New Posts' will display 8 posts, click again and only 3 will show up. Another will display a different number of posts.

Before the hack New Posts remembered everything that happened and did not clear out after it has been viewed once (as I suspect is happening). It was much easier to keep up with a conversation that way.

I understand there is the new Activity Stream option but it entails lots of scrolling to be able to keep up with a single thread.

Thanks very much for your hard work getting the site back up! Any ideas whether you will get the Feedback running again?

Feedback soon, I have this whole week off.

The difference is the way the forum tracks visits to a thread, there are 3 options, and right now we are on a cookie based system which is pretty unreliable with some users.

Please report any bugs and errors here. A screenshot would be nice, but you can just give the specifics in this thread also.
    OK.

Just got this in my email: "Dear benenglish, SXXXXXXXX has just tried to send you a private message. However, your private messages box on Texas Gun Talk has reached the specified quota. In order to receive further private messages, you must delete some messages. Please visit this page to do so: http://www.texasguntalk.com/forums/private.php

    All the best,
    Texas Gun Talk"

When I go to that page, I get:

    and

So, even though I have zero messages, I seem to have 100 stored. The solution seems easy enough. On each of those screenshots, there are download options (xml, csv, and text) for downloading all messages. When I try, though, I get:

If there's any way to fix this, that would be great. Right now, I can't see any of my old PMs - sent, received, saved, whatever. There's a great deal of useful information in those PMs that's I'd like to preserve. (As an aside, when the board went down, I feel fairly sure I was nowhere near 100 saved messages. I had only recently done a thorough housecleaning on my PMs.)

I realize I could blindly click the option to "Empty Folder" and that might solve it but the software seems to want to give me an option to preserve my data. Before I give up on it, I'd like to try to recover it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks and congratulations for your progress thus far in getting things up and running again,

    BenEnglish

I received the same screens initially Ben. You do NOT have to click empty to fix it! However once I got into my mailboxes they were empty.
I think when I selected download messages as Text I could then access PMs.

Sorry, I honestly don't remember what I did to make it work. You'll figure it out.
In the mean time I'll shoot you a test PM.

Thanks for the test PM. I got the same email to my signup email account saying that it can't be delivered because I've reached my quota on PMs. I tried all the same stuff and I could post the same screenshots as I did previously.

I'll give it a couple of days and if Texas1911 can't get it fixed, I'll try to delete the 100 messages that the system says I have stored in empty folders and that I can't download because I have no messages. (Yes, I found that as confusing to write as it was to read.)
