For walking around the show, I suggest carrying them in your backpack with a "For Sale" sign attached to the pack indicating what you're selling. See it all the time.

You'll need to check them at the door with security, and for this, you'll want to have the guns unloaded (obviously), actions locked open, and preferably zip-ties looped through the barrel and/or magazine wells and chambers. Do something similar through the cylinder and barrel of any revolvers. The guy checking your weapons at the door might suggest something else, but you definitely want to give him the impression that yo are safety conscious.

I walked in (Pasadena) with a pistol I wanted to sell. It still had the ty-wrap on from the last gun show. The Police officer seemed fairly happy to see the ty-wrap already on. Thanked me for making his job a little easier.

Like the others have said, backpack should be fine and the officers really appreciate it when they are already ty-wrapped. I also like to have the weapons in my hand when standing in line/waiting for check in. I don't like to make them guess what i am going to pull out of the bag and in what condition it will be in. A gun case or pistol case would be a different story.

If you have a really nice gun or something in short supply to sell, I think it helps to have it in view I sold a AR lower that way. Walked passed a dealer table that was heavy into AR's and one of the guys working the booth asked to see it and how much I wanted for it. I told him $450. After looking at it he said it was well put together with quality components, and they would probably list it for $500, so they wouldn't be willing to pay my asking price. Then he said, "you'll won't have problem getting that price" Which was overheard by someone standing near buy, and they pulled out the cash and we made a deal. I was thinking I'd go down to $400, but didn't have to.

All guns will need to be inspected and tie-wrapped before going into the show. You might consider taking some digital pictures and taping a sign to your backpack with some information on the guns that you are trying to sell. If others don't see the guns then they cannot offer to buy them. Include information such as make, model, and asking price. This seems to work well for others.

I came out of the Big Town show (Mesquite) one time and the guy ahead of me complained that he had no hits on selling his pistol. It was in his pack. He never took it out while inside the show so no one ever knew he had something to sell.

Another time at Big Town, a guy sold his rifle on the sidewalk before he even got into the show and just went home. He had created a sign with some information on the weapon: make, model, calabre, asking price, and modifications. He taped the sheet of paper to a stick and slid the stick down the barel.

Do yourself a favor and decide what you are going to ask for it and what is the least you will take for it. Dont tell someone you are taking the best offer. That is an auction and you will get berated badly by some. Remember that a deal is a deal and a good deal is where both parties are happy.
