Iam not a 1911 fan by no means. If the moon turned blue and Texas did the open carry.....The 1911 would be the only I carried. Full size. In 45 or 38super. Fixed sights.

Nickle or stainless. Engraved If i could afford it. Handmade by me......Basket weave, oil finish, red or blue suede lined holster. Maybe a few conchos made of mexican coins for the belt.

Grips in mesquite wood, mammoth tooth, or Ram horn.

Maybe Lucite with a black widow or piss colored scorpion cased inside. With silver(not chrome) grip back panel. Similar to the examples at the Texas Ranger museum.

XDm, reliable and I'm accurate in a good holster with a good belt.

It's about self defense, not showing off.

I'd carry my M&P. I'm familiar with it and it's the only one I have for now. But I would still try to cover it-I would just have more options with open carry since I wouldn't have to worry about the occasional slip.

My town does do a "Pioneer's Day" event which might call for something closer to this.

Until I hear of 1 case where open carry caused any of the problems some claim it will I view it in the same light as CC turning the country in to the Wild West.

Doubt I would OC all the time. Probably much more during the summer, and the. It would be more like making 0 effort to conceal.

The only reason I wouldn't want to totally open carry-and I've heard this from other members as well-is I wouldn't someone to see me and make me a target. I'd prefer them not to see me coming if I walk in on a bad situation or I'm at a situation about to go bad.

Lay that rig in the sun for a few days. Get the patina going....

My uncle actually wore it, gun and belt, when he had rent houses in south Dallas back in the late 80s.

The belt hangs in the closet now an the gun stays in my work desk at home.
