Looking for a good load for 60 grain polymer tip bullets. Plan to shoot from either AR or Mini 14 with 1/9 or AR with 1/8. Looking for a possible deer and/or pig round.

Let me know if you have a good load and also if you have chrony data, would be much appreciated.

    Thanks for your help, Guys.

Doesn't matter for the powder. Probably use Winchester primers. I'm starting from scratch on this one. Picked up some of Midway's blemished bullets on sale and trying to find a good way to send 'em off.

Not a 60 grain, but I have good luck with a moderate load of H335 with 65 gr Sierras in my 1 in 9 twist barrel. This my give you a place to start looking. Check your manuals. Good luck!!!

I use CCI primers, never had a moments trouble with them. I like to use 25.5 grains of Winchester 748 powder. Not a hot scorcher load but accurate in my rifles.

I size with an RCBS small base X die, trim cases withg a Lee trimmer and I don't crimp.

Hope thats some help, you will get several other suggestions I am sure. Good shootin" ......

What specific bullet is it? Make sure the cartridge OAL with the bullet seated to an acceptable depth will fit an AR mag before you load up a whole batch. Tipped bullets are longer than FMJ and OTM bullets of the same weight. At 60 grains you are probably ok, but it never hurts to check just in case.

I don't know the maker of the bullets. I bought a bunch of them earlier this year when Midway had a sale on their "blemished" bullets. Cosmetic defects only. Thanks for the tip, though. I always verify OAL when reloading. Saves lots of potential problems when firing.

I'm looking for a relatively hot hunting load for pigs, deer, other typical Texas creatures. My mini and AR likes em fast..............

    Out here by the lake!
I was out at the gun club tuesday young dude had a bunch that he was running thru his bushmaster. his groups were less then impressive for a scoped rifle. Got to talking to him & he was talking about getting another barrel. When i asked him what his twist rate was he said 1-9. I told him to look for a 72 or 77 grain bullet before changing barrels.

I just have to ask what's your barrel twist?
