Purchased a new Savage 12 BTVS 223 and mounted a 5-20x44 Nikon Monarch using a Denutz one piece mount, bore sighting went fine however at range I was 10 inches low and 7 inch left @50 yards. Problem the Nikon Monarch has only approx. 32 total moa, ran out of travel below aim point.
Returned scope to factory and mount both companies supplied new hardware mounted and same problem. OK at this point I assume mounting points on rifle receiver are off screw holes bored wrong or back of receiver slightly low. Purchased a Leupold universal mount with windage adjustment and Burris signature rings with Zee inserts, using the 0 rings and bored sighted plus using a laser it appeared to be dead on at 25, 50 and 100 yards.
First round out of barrel at 50 yards 10 inches low, 7 inches left, each click on this scope is only 1/8 at 100yards so I would guess at 50 it would be 1/16. Next I will try the .005 zee ring insert, honestly never had this type of problem sighting in a rifle, any advice short of selling it would be appreciated.
