    Well...I feel like an idiot

So the other day I was on gunbot.net and some 22lr showed up for a decent per round price. I knew they would go fast, so I jumped all over it and bought some for my rifle. Well, after I finished up the transaction I went to look at it, and noticed that the 22lr bullets I just bought said they should only be fired in handguns. I was in such a hurry to finish the transaction before they sold out that I bought blindly. O well, guess i'll see if I can barter or sell them when they come in. (I don't own a 22 pistol)

I shoot them in a single shot Stevens Favorite (Savage) all the time. They won't cycle a semi-auto but I've fed them into a 10-22 previously also. Always worked for me?

ETA: Both those guns have less than 20" barrels.

I've shot them through my rifles with no problems.

Just double check between shots on the first few rounds.

Best ammo you can get for indoor target practice.

Were you shooting them out of bolt action or semi-auto? Did they cycle your semi-auto? My only .22 is a semi-auto (Mossberg 715T). I might still give them a try and do what Charlie did with his 10/22 and just feed them myself.

Mostly in an old Ithaca single shot and a wards Westernfield bolt action(long barrel)

They will definitely NOT cycle a semi auto. They have no powder and the only propellant is the primer.

You can still shoot them in a semi auto, just have to cycle the action manually. Not sure if they will actually cycle through a 10/22 magazine but could be loaded individually.

That's good ammo. Won't cycle in my 10-22, but do work just fine as a single shot round: Will not stick in the bore, and have killed two possums raiding the pet food without the neighbors being alarmed.

Put the possums in the road, and someone ran over them. Just another case of road-kill. Buzzards cleaned them up by noon the next day. Go Green!

I've shot them in my 39A lever action with out and issue, as well as Buckmark pistol. As others have said, in an autoloader you need to manually cycle because there's not enough power to work the action. IME, the are only accurate to about 15 - 20 feet. The bullets are very light and with the 375 FPS speed, they don't stabilize very well. Kind of like shooting a BB gun.

Seen a mouse earlier, wished I had some of these on hand.

Just not near as much fun to use a trap.

Hey, you came out better than a friend of mine did. He jumped all over some 22longs at the gun show in Dallas a few weeks back. Bought a thousand rounds from a seller and felt like he ripped the guy off. Got home and found out(this is new to me) that the ammo didn't have any gunpowder(I'm not making this up) Just a primer. I thought they were subsonic. They weren't . Box was miss leading. written in what I think was Italian. Anyway they were absolutely useless. It was like shooting a BB gun. Lesson learned.

If they are like the Aguilar they aren't useless. Slow, short range, but a blast to shoot and great for quietly dispatching small varmints.

Im sure they serve a purpose as you stated but In our case they were useless. We wound up giving them away.
