Looking at scope mounted hunting lights. Looking at the Wicked hunting lights right now but figured I'd see what everyone else is using.

Shots will be close to 200 yards.

Browse through here. I have been impressed with the products of theirs I have used and seen. If you don't have access to the good thermal/NV, this is a good way to hunt at night without going broke.

the magnetic lights that attach to your feeder are very good. I have zapped pigs from 250+ yards using these with a regular day scope.

This is gonna be for coyotes so in looking more at scope mounted lights than feeder lights.

Got a buddy that uses feeder lights for hogs and loves it but don't know how I could apply it to coyotes.

Put a couple of chicken or rabbit carcasses under a feeder.

I got some jackrabbit distress calls so I figure a jackrabbit would be a good match.

EWT are good lights , but the mounts suck-plastic.

Wicked lights are better, and the mount lets the light sit closer to the scope.

Depends on how high your feeder is. On a Hang em High feeder the light is attached to the bottom of the box at about 6 feet off the ground and it gives you a circle of light about 20-30 feet( depending on how good your optics are, I can see them a little further out) that you can shoot at.

Thanks Hoji. I called them and got basically the same info. I decided to order one and hope it gets here in time to take it to S. Texas with me next weekend. I'll be using NF or Leupold VX-3 scopes, so I'm good there.

Spend the extra couple of bucks for the Duracell "C" cell batteries. You will be glad you did. Good hunting.

I was planning on wiring it to the feeder battery (solar charged), but yeah, I only buy Duracell batteries. Thanks!

    DONT!

We did that and it killed the feeder batteries in about three weeks. If you are gong to use external battery source, go with a deep cell marine battery( boat battery) with a solar panel.

this is the only negative I have experienced with these lights. Four good "c"cells will last a couple of weeks.

It could be that I hooked them up to the feeders incorrectly, or my feeder batteries were weak to begin with, but I doubt it.

Ugh....got the light in yesterday and it has a short preventing it from turning on when the back cover is installed. Have emailed the company, but not a good first impression. LOL

I was gonna say that the cover has the attachment points to hook it to the feeder, but then you'd just tell me to duct tape the light to the feeder. lol

I got an email back from the company (good folks to deal with, responsive, helpful) and we have a work-around solution until I cna bring the light into them for inspection.

I didn't realize until last night that I already have one of their other products, a weapon-mounted red light for hog hunting, that I had purchased used from a friend.
