I don't know if I'm being premature, but I just bought some 9mm and some 40 S&W at walmart. I've seen it fairly occasionally recently (I usually see SOME kind of pistol ammo) I just got 2k of plinking bullets in the mail. I also got 1k of brass yesterday. I've got a few hundred primers left, but I have been able to get them (one box at a time) pretty consistantly. I've got some more on backorder. .. . . whenever that comes in.

I feel all right. I might even have a chance to get some 380 auto (I can pray).

First time in months that I felt pretty content about my little stash of ammo.

I'm not trying to brag. I'm just happy.

Of course I did call bass pro this week and I asked for the ammo department, the lady asked "pistol ammo?"
    I said, "yep"

    She said, "We're out."

    "Thanks"

I found that exchange kind of funny, in a sad sort of way.

It is coming back in supply pretty strong now. Lots of reports from WM of availability. It is showing back up in Academy. Still a ways to go before we see "cheap" ammo and plenty of primers, but I do believe (pray) that the hysteria is over. Midway even has plenty of Wolf Match 22LR in stock at $50 per 500. A month ago, I couldn't find 22LR in Houston or at the Cabelas in Austin.

Here's to hoping this lunacy is over.

If you look at various gun websites AR's are starting to drop in price by several hundreds of dollars too.

There are plenty of AR's out there now - unless you want a bull barrel on your upper.

The primers are what concerns me. You can't find them anywhere. Good thing I keep several thousand in stock. But I like to shoot them up, not conserve them.

Carter's Country in Houston dropped their .223 Lake City down from $12.95 to $9.95 per box. Midway USA not only has Wolf Match 22LR in stock, the price is down to $50 per brick. Now, I need for the 7.62 x 51 to drop back down and for the .45 ACP to drop and life will be sweet again.

WM in Victoria hasn't had any ammo in months. Academy is very sporatic. You get it when it comes in or you wait. I got a new catalog from Cabela's this week and their prices are highway robbery. The funny thing is, you can get all the shotgun ammo you want. Even that has doubled in price in 2 years.

How much ammo can people stockpile before they have enough????

My regular primers supply is starting to get regular again!
Now if everything else will get regular the world will be right again - well almost right!

Seems like I see it on the shelves when I don't need it. Shot up almost all my 9mm this weekend, down to my last box of 50. Went this evening to the Academy near my house and to Bass Pro, no 9mm. Will have to start checking the Wal Marts and other Academies tomorrow, hope to find more by the weekend.

If not, I still have a couple hundred rounds each of .38 Special and .32 ACP as well as about 1800 rounds of .22 LR so I'll just have to give the 9mm a rest :patriot:
