I've been amazed at the treatment of Palin even for a far left wing press however for it to continue on tells me they are frightened of this woman and again I ponder why, her anti-abortion views, Christian, white, married, family or perhaps honestly and truth frighten the left.

In my lifetime I have never seen such viciousness that now comes out of left wing Dem's, truly I believe they smell blood and death of the America they hate, perhaps their wrong, time will tell.

Palin is so "yesterday's news". She bailed out as Gov to take all of the money deals she can get her hands on while the getting is good. Do I blame her? Not one bit. You have to seize an opportunity when it presents itself.

In the long run she and her family will be much better off financially and she will be forgotten like an old newspaper. I say enjoy your ten minutes of fame and profit from it while you can Sarah.

I liked Sarah Palin before she was ever picked for the VP slot. On her Alaska website it was full of pictures of her family, her governor exploits, and of course her HUNTING. That did it for me, I knew that she was the last true conservative in the country.

If those pro-gun conservatives don't want her to be the frontrunner, then just whom do they want?

Mitt? Anti-gun until he ran for pres.

Newt? He's got women problems in his past too.

Huckabee? The liberals have already labeled him too religious.

It's Palin in 2010 or four more years of anti-gun hysteria.

Palin shouldn't have quit and had a lousy excuse for doing so. When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Pff. I'm so disgusted with American politics lately that I'm ready to quit. It's just that I can't, because I'm on the wrong end of the process to be allowed to.

    If I could, I would.

What bothered me about Palin, and I bought 4 McCain/Palin shirts to support the campaign, is her lack of knowledge when it came to SCOTUS decisions on 2nd and 5th amendment. I mean if a mental giant like Katie Couric can stump you...

She was elected to serve as governor. Unless she can wow me with some new direction, my opinion will be that she's a quitter. The left was mean, vicious, and unfair. Hell, even McCain didn't come to her defense.

But still, I thought she was bigger than them all. As of today, in my mind, she is not. I hope she proves me wrong.

Her connections to the Alaksa Independence Party, that very odd story about the "bridge to nowhere" that sounds a lot like something Senator Kerry said about a spending bill in 2004, that bizzare resignation speech, and a George Bush-like akwardness in public. I've heard some mutterings about Dominionist leanings that would be disastrous if found to be substantive. I'm not sure that the folksey "hockey mom" righteousness is going to carry for a full election cycle.

Energizing the Republican base isn't going to cut it next election ... case in point it failed this last election. The Republicans are eagerly degenerating into a regional party ... in a region that's neither large enough to carry national elections nor is it solidly Republican in the first place.

I'm not sure how to get people off the entitlement and expectation train. For some reason, people seem to think money grows on trees. Grabbing it and redistributing it makes sense to them. This being the Dems main selling point, at least it seems that way to me all these years, they will have to drop the ball big time.

I don't think we can trust the GOP to do the right thing either. I don't recall a shrinkage in government from 2001 to 2006. I'll still vote Rep just to slow the slide...

So yea, IP has it right. Republicans have become a regional, nascar, and shrinking idea.

The raging attack on Palin has even left some die hard republicans snarling at her. They fail to see the big picture. What is the big picture?

Don't know about others but my No. ONE issue is the 2nd Amendment. And the last time I looked, other than Mike Huckabee, she is the only supporter of MY right to keep and bear arms in both parties.

Some say that the republicans need to broaden the party, not energize the base. Well, hoorah, McCain was the most centrist candidate we have had in years. If he couldn't bring in the middle and the disgruntled democrats, then they are not capable of being pulled in.

I still want someone to tell me who is more popular, more energetic, and more capable of protecting my issues in the republican party than she is.

I know the raging democrats think she is.

I'm not going to bother voting R. I'm going to vote my conscience. I actually didn't vote for several years because the R and D were both equally bad. Just last year, though I started voting for who I thought would be best for the nation. IMO this is the real reason the R is shrinking. Dirty little secret is that the D is, too.

I never vote straight ticket. I usually have a score to settle.

EDIT: Getting back to your point, I don't know wtf. Dems farm theirs, Repub farm people like me, none are tcb.
