Inexpensive way to clean stainless steel coffee pot

It's easy and if you have a dishwasher, you already have the necessary cleaner. Put about 3 teaspoons of powdered dishwasher soap into the stainless steel pot. Fill it with hot water, swish it around to mix the dishwasher soap and then let it sit for 3 to 5 hours. After that, empty, rinse and violà.....clean and shiny as new. No nasty chemicals to worry about. I stumbled across this method a long time ago but never had a stainless steel pot. Last year my old coffee maker finally died so I bought a new one and it had the stainless steel pot.

Salt will also get the job done. I used it on my bongs in my younger days.
