The forum has available supporting memberships for those of you that would like to pitch in. If you've seen people with green names, those are people that have become supporting members of the site. Those in gold, have become lifetime members. Membership starts at $10 / year.

My understanding is that it is a single forum where lifetime members can chat. I don't know much about it historically, but it doesn't appear very active at all.

I'm always surprised at how many "members" have thousands of posts but can't shell out $10 a year to support the site.

I understand but, support is not required by the owner's choice which seems standard for the sites that I'm on.

I'm not saying restrict the site from anyone in any way. Also I understand some people just don't have the extra money but on the other hand some do. It's only $10.

If the owners were concerned they would setup an option for Paypal subscriptions to pull the $ every year.

I think it's also cause the business model is mostly based on selling ad space and not selling subscriptions.

Sorry to hear that. I just checked the usergroup permissions and noticed it was set to 250. I just changed that to 500, based on Kevin's response. Please let me know if it didn't change for you. Also, Kevin, let me know if I'm errant on that. I'm just rolling with what you posted. :-)
