    I remember his broadcasts from the Cape and when he broke down when Armstrong stepped out onto the lunar surface. He seemed to be as much a part of it as the astronauts.

    RIP Walter. Liberal, though you were, America trusted you because your bias was rarely, if ever, evident in your presentation of the news; a trait sorely missing in today's TV "journalists."
