    Have any experience with these?

This is different than the Adams Arms in that you don't have to remove the old gas block.

Watched a good review on these on YouTube and have read about them on AR15.com

It's between this and buying a complete piston upper.

I have one. It works well. I had another one on a 5.45 upper and it worked flawlessly for 11k rounds til i sold the rifle. If you want one id possivly be willing to trade for a bcg gas tube and a little cash on your end. If interested pm me.

I've used it before. The piston works great... just keep in mind, if you're using a gas block, the piston must be aligned exactly right or you may get cycling issues. So if you're getting malfunctions, try adjusting the gas block before you give up on it.

This would be going into a fixed front sight gas block. It's pinned/factory, so I don't think there would be any issues with alignment, but thanks for the heads up.

Itchin2shoot, that's a tempting offer, but I think I'm going to keep my gas parts as a back up.

I would definitely look into that one before doing another Adams Arms. If you get it do post a review.

Piston systems are so much better when running a can keeping the blow-back out of your face.

Out of curiosity, have you had your current set up fail?

Surprised it took that long for someone to post this or similar.

Odd the resistance to change in the AR crowd. I'm surprised y'all aren't shooting the M16A2 style rifles now instead of that new gimmicky M4.

I'll post a SCAR thread and really get you going!

Lol! I'm not one of those who are resistant to change or even a fan boy one way or another the other. I even looked into piston myself for a while when I first picked up an AR. But after running one for a while, a few thousand rounds, and even tossing it in the mud and firing, I never had it fail. So I always will wonder why? Not that I'm against it, just wondering if you've had issues, which would make sense why you want to switch. I've heard people running cans or SBRs say it is night and day, and that could make sense.

I've shot the M16A2 and M4 a good amount, civilian versions less. Not much problems with either. Overall I like the AR, especially its modularity and user level service. but I prefer piston guns. I know the advantages and disadvantages of DI and pistons. Regarding suppressors I've heard some folks like pistons for that but I've also heard that DI guns are quieter.

For me its an improvement over DI. I get that DI has certain benefits but I prefer the piston benefits of a cooler cleaner chamber and bolt carrier group.

What I like about the Osprey is I can use the factory gas block.
