I think it's as likely as using the Ft. Hood shootings to promote gun control.

If one or more of the shooters is black, it will hurt their narrative. Also, being on a military base, it will be difficult to push gun control while also trying to explain how a prolonged attack could take place at a secure facility in this day and age.

I expect a lot of noise and fury until solid details come out and then everyone will go back to their holes.

Especially in light of recent events in Colorado. Maybe just enough pandering to keep the base happy.

The latest story line is that he entered with a shotgun, shot the guard, took his 9mm pistol, hid and waited for DC police to arrive, shot first DC officer and took his AR to use for rest of shooting. When the UBC arguments were going strong, one thing that I mentioned was that if all else fails a criminal could "take" a gun from police officer, but that was said to be "impossible". Well ....
