As an old timer I fear standing in the Bakery line at HEB I feel like a Chihuahua in a herd of buffalo.

GOD I'm sorry i said that.

This country does have an obesity problem... and it stems from a lazy culture.

I should know, I'm part of it.

To deny a person a job because they are a little overweight is a scheissty move. No one really cares what the Surgeon General says anyways. I can't tell you the last time I even heard one speak.

Yes, but it smacks of hypocrisy when the Surgeon General is going to go out and campaign against overweight folks. It's especially hypocritical when you realize that if Obamacare goes through, she'll be in charge of cutting off certain kinds of care to the obese based on the fact that they're a "bad investment" until they lose some weight.

The surgeon general isn't a "real" doctor position. It is merely a post to try and encourage socialized medicine.

And besides, it certainly wouldn't be the first time a doctor was hypocritical about diet and exercise.

But like it or not, she is an example.

    Image sells.

If she ain't practicing why should anyone else? I went through this as a trainer. Who wants to take the advice of the out of shape, overweight trainer? Is his advice any good if he can't even keep up with himself?

I don't know, I'm a Health and Fitness major. If it were up to me everyone would be fit. Some activity, some good eating, and most certainly some indulgences. You don't have to restrict and kill yourself in order to be healthy. People can have it all.
