Not as long as we keep the Second Amendment, without which we have no hope of keeping the remainder.

The reality, and one thing political leaders can count on, is that those who have lost a freedom previously granted to their forefathers, but lost to their generation before they were born, too young to know, or through ignorance, have little chance to ever fight successfully to regain it.

Long live Texas ... and Merle Haggard.

And yes, the good ole days are gone, not likely to be back unless something RADICAL happens in in 14 and 16 as in we take control of the Senate, keep control of the House and take the OPUS with a dream team:

    Prez: Ted Cruz

    VP: Sara Palin

Sec State: John Bolton, Asst Rand Paul

AG Gregg Abbott, Asst AG Andrew Napolitano

SecDef: Forgot his name but he is some piss and vinegar USMC General who does not mince words

Sec Treas: Stuart Varney, Fed Reserve: Paul the elder

And those over 55 lived under the chaotic, incomprehensible, and inflationary reign of Jimmy "The Peanut Farmer" Carter. His drunken brother, who pissed on Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta even had a beer named after him!

Our inattention and failure to ride herd on our elected representatives caused this. The money boys gained control of both Republican and Demo parties and unless we strike back in the primaries, we are stuck with this. Whether this remains, depends upon how willing we are to research the loyalties of primary candidates. There is hope. That's how we found Ted Cruz.

Speaking of Cruz, notice how the good old boy circus is blasting Cruz and bashing him at every turn? Don't be fooled. Cruz is rocking the boat and they HATE that!

Who is right on this Govt shutdown and trying to defund Obamacare? Look past the obvious. Who stands to gain financially from these issues? Follow the money!

Anyone under 55 has not lived [adult] during good times.

I beg to differ. I think life is what you make it. Everyone thinks their turd stinks the worst. I made my mind up early to enjoy my ride through this life, and for the mist part I have.

Every generation can lay claim to bad times and good. The key is that folks need to recognize a messed up situation and do something about it. I like what the Tea Party is doing, but there have been times I liked some things the Dems did (though nothing lately comes to mind).

How about that. My glass is still half full.

LOL this is called the "pig in shit" syndrome. Look at those pigs living in mud and a barn yard full of shit, wow, hey, Mr Pig, how would like to come out here where its nice and dry and clean. 'I am happy here why would I want to come out there were its dry and there is not shit to wallow in.'

Is this bad? Well not really. Its how POWs survive and many folks in between as they face the challenges presented.

However when a govt uses it then its wrong: The govt has no desire to really lower the unemployment rate, Obama is establishing the new normal. Do this long enough and people will adapt to living in shit and think its great...

Hmmm, that would work except that pigs need the mud to roll in. It keeps I sects at bay and helps to cool them off. They really would suffer more nice dry land. They really wouldn't gain anything by leaving the mud and it wouldn't be helpful to the good of the group.
