Hard to believe MSNBC actually posted this:

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32085686

Anyway ... Bobama should have told the reporter that he was there to talk about health care, not a Cambridge PD issue. Instead of saying the cops acted stupidly, he could have said he doesn't have all the facts and of course wasn't there.

    Next reporter please ...

I hope all the non-minority law enforcement officers of our nation stepped back and didn't get their toes chopped off by the huge wedge Dumbama drove between minority citizens and themselves.

Why do I keep hearing Cyndi Lauper's song True Colors playing over and over in my head?

Oh, come on. You know better than that. All those questions were pre-screened. Obama doesn't do "off-the-cuff".

I will say that the contact should have ended as soon as the officer had reason to believe that the man in the house actually lived there. Unless you have reason to believe that he broke in, just shut up and go on to your next call already.

I agree, but I wouldn't distract from the likelihood that the guy gave the cops a tirade about prejudice and hate being Mr. Scholar and feeling like Barney Fife was profiling him.

No offense, but if the police rolled up to my house after I just broke into it I would be more apt to thank them for investigating it. No cop is going to bust you for proving it is your household, and being thankful for them investigating a possible burglar. I can see a cop getting frustrated with a head-strong home owner raising a ruckus over them doing their job.

As I heard the facts, the police received a call from a neighbor who said she saw a couple of black males breaking in to a house. If thats true, then I would assume that the officer was also concerned that there could be a burgler in the house and once he had determined the professor was the resident the officer wanted to determine whether the scene was safe. Imagine the uproar and lawsuits if the officer had simply departed and then the professor was gunned down in his home. "Police abandon black citizen to fend for himself in home with burgler."

Regardless, the President of the United States shouldn't be talking about this being stupid and racisist and then having to apologize. Is the President of the U.S. now going to comment on all the news?

How many days until November 2012?

Uproar? Yes. Lawsuits? No. You cannot sue the police for failing to protect you. It's been hashed out in many, many cases including one where the police abandoned a house full of women to a group of thugs who spent a couple of days raping them.

Whoa!!! You don't reference a Cyndi Lauper song on a gun forum...

J/K All the rational non-hippies in America knew what would come of the situation, and it's happening. Hopefully this will be one of many negative things that occur which could positively (for all Americans - some are just to ignorant to see) influence the next election.

Right CZ, True Colors showed through the "cool".

When will this go away anyhow? I'm ready for it to end unless they try to hang the cop for something.

It worked!!! People are talking about Cambridge and race relations instead of the nearly failed attempt at this suck-ass health care legislation by a democrat controlled congress with a democrat president if office. Even a few democrats are concerned about this bill.
