It is tying up a VA loan for me right now...but im for the shutdown.

If it keeps going it may affect my job but out of principle im still for it.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

I think thats the vast majority of peoples experience w the shutdown.

I think there will be negotiations soon and things will be back to a new normal in a few weeks with the fed gov back open.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
I'm not 100% confident that will be the case, let's not forget we have a debt ceiling debate fast approaching. I really hope the Pubs will hold the line at least until then, i'm under the impression that's part of their strategy. The fact that roughly 800,000 or 20% of our government is considered "nonessential" gives me the notion that this so termed "shutdown" should be considered as permanent. If nothing else this whole fiasco is bringing in attention from most Americans who normally care more about what's going on with the Kardashians rather than their own Country. Obviously the vast majority of the media places the blame on the right but just the fact that more Americans are seeing the total disfuntion of our government as a whole will hopefully get them more involved. I truly believe the longer this gets drug out the better of the end result will be for our Nation.
Oh, and it has not affected me in any form or fashion.

There might be negotiations but Reid is not going to give anything. All we are doing now is waiting for the Rs to cave, I expect it early next week.

Cancelled/postponed my reserve drill. They passed a bill for paying active duty and active reservists, but forgot traditional reservists and national guard. Oh well. Nice weekend weather wise to hit the range :twin:

I heard on the radio, interview with a Republican congressman.
He said , I'm paraphrasing, "we don't care what the democrats or senate want, we're hearing from our constituents and they support the Republicans in congress".

I really wish I had caught his name.

I saw a poll last night that 48% of America approved of the shut-down and 49% dis-approved. I saw it on FOX news last night but it was apparently administered by ABC News.

The only thing that has affected me is the inability to call the IRS. Need to call on behalf of a client and can't do it.

But the big IRS computer is still doing its job, accepting efiled tax returns.

I have found myself being happier and more cheerful knowing the Federal Government is smaller, today anyway.

It lifted my spirits greatly. The.gov furloughed some 800,000 .gov employees deemed non-essential. If they were non-essential, why were they hired in the first place?

We've got over 11M unemployed in the civilian sector. Non-essential Civil Servants pi$$ed and moaned and rushed Senator Cruz's San Antonio office yesterday. Cry me a river. A bunch of Obamabots who voted for what they got!
