Been there, done that. See my avatar pic, where the majority of the beard is actually tucked into my t-shirt.

On a decidedly unfunny note, gore photos are not hard to find showing what happens when long hair or even beards get caught in spinning machinery. One of the factors in me losing my beard was that it got caught in too much stuff...and the Santa business has gone to hell, to boot.
