Spent the morning at the gun show in Pasadena today.

Good to see some of the prices on guns there. Ammo still high, but gun prices have come way down.

    NIB ARs from DPMS $<600

WASR AKs $625+/- (on one table, they were offered with a free 75 round drum for that price.)

    Boeker Kalashnikov auto knives $40

Off brand stripped AR lowers $<80.

Finally saw that KelTech 9mm carbine that was posted about in another tread. Boy that thing is a lot bigger than I thought.

Saw a slide action imported shotgun in a plain home defense set up NIB $<200.

Looked at a couple of Ruger Scout rifles that were well under $800.

Saw two 9mm revolvers by Taurus, been looking for the Charter Arms Pit Bull in that caliber. Don't like the reverse clips that you need with the Taurus.

Few hunting rifles walking around, less tactical guns than have been there lately. Figure it's due to the cheaper prices of the new ones on the vendor tables.

Finally saw that FAL that has been mentioned by others in gun show treads lately. Now understand why it's priced so high. First it is being sold by Art of Republic Arms. Second it's a Browning, very few of those around. Third I think he said it was 'sear cut', did not verify but that would add to the value considerably. Not an everyday FN/FAL but one for collectors.

.22 ammo that was $100+ a month ago is down to $50 or so, still stupid expensive, but moving in the right direction.

    Magazines plentiful.

AK pistols were in the $600 range.

    T. R. Graham ~ The GLOCKsmith was there doing work on Glocks.

The knife sharpening guy was there just inside the east door to the hall.

On the whole, good show. Not uncomfortable crazy packed, but had a good turnout.

    Bleah suck.

I had a chance to buy a 1980 Colt Python 6" stainless with a slight blemish for $1300 from a guy walking around in the show. Told the guy I would take it, got his cell #, ran home to get the money, raced back to the show and he sold it to someone else.

Grrrr, I hate people. That is all.

Ended up walking out of the show with a Glock 34 Gen4 and micro Aimpoint. Helped Sugar Land find a SMG at a good price, and had a good time except the Python screwage. :(

Prices on ARs is back to pre-panic. Tavors and SCARs are still outrageously priced. Ammo is insane too, the only ammo that was reasonably priced was .500 S&W magnum and .50BMG.

I was there this AM as well. I picked up a needle oiler, a .30 caliber jag, and a neoprene rifle foregrip sleeve. Prices on firearms seem to be coming back down, and some ammo was reasonably priced. Overall it was worth the trip, and was fun to walk around for a couple of hours.

I wish I would have seen that Taurus 9mm revolver... I have been looking for one, but haven't had a lot of luck finding one. Was the price reasonable? I saw the Charter Arms Pitbull in .40, but not 9mm.

That is one price I am trying to remember, did not seem out of line (I would have remembered that). It was on that big vendors tables between the two entrances to the hall. The blued one was closer to the door and the stainless was a table or so farther toward the back. I think it had 5 clips with it, those did not seem very substantial. Only 9mm I have seen was that one. I've seen the .40 Charter Arms, but like you not the 9mm, except at the NRA show.

I'd like to see both the Pitbull and the Taurus side by side. I'm looking for an occasional pocket carry gun, but mainly this would be a "truck"/camping gun that I would be confident both my wife and I would be able to operate. Plus, it would make a great backup bedside gun. I realize I can get any old revolver for this purpose, but I'm trying to keep my ammo variety under control so a 9mm revolver would fit the bill nicely.

We were trying to get one for herselves mom. Mom has a 9mm Sig, but due to an accident can't rack the slide anymore. She had plenty of 9mm ammo and since it's normally easy and inexpensive to get, keep it simple and she only needs to remember 1 caliber to buy. However I looked for over a year, was on three different gun shop waiting lists for one, and finally gave up. Went with the .357 Ruger LCR. Will probably consider trading with her if I can find the 9mm.
