    I picked up this Custom 8mm Mauser Rifle today. Going to try to get out and shoot it tomorrow. Pretty excited. Iwill post an update after I go shoot it.

    My uncle uses an 8mm for all his deer hunting and loves it. Good ammo is hard to find and expensive though. I load for him for less than half what factory hunting rounds cost.

    OH....the 8mm Mauser round is a very powerful cartridge! The original Mauser rifles had a 300 meter zero. They were expected to reach WAY out there!

    Nice! I am looking to get "out there" a bit...Im sure the gun is much more capable than me! haha! Now if I can just find some ammo locally I will be good to go!

    .318 or .323 diameter... guessing .323. Factory loads have their pressure held down in case someone puts a .323 in an old .318. It is said that handloading is necessary to get pressures up to '06 levels where the cartridge really performs. There are 8mm experts that can chime in I'm sure.
