    Are you talking about crossdraw holsters? IMO, that's the best way to carry while seated... most often used in the driver's seat. Otherwise, they are a liability for close-in work (again, my opinion).

    This. It is easier to remove a long barrel gun from a holster while moving that way, especially while seated.
