In a couple weeks I will be attending the Classic Car Championship races. Can I carry? I understand you can't carry at professional sporting events, but I'm not sure if this counts as a professional sporting event or since it's being held at a professional sporting location it counts as one as well. Thoughts?

Thanks guys, bit of a bummer none the less.
Truth is my previous doesn't answer your question RE: professional event. I'd bet TI will be a long soon to discuss "event location" in detail.

I don't have to worry about these 1st world issues ..... no dinero :(

I went for a concert recently and don't recall seeing any 30.06 signs.

I did get frisked going in and they would have found mine if I was carrying at the time. No idea if they would search you for a car event. I don't know if it meets requirements of 'professional' either.

That said, the link posted doesn't meet 30.06 requirements as it's quoted AFAIK.

If you're that concerned, don't carry.

    ........

TxDPS specified 30.06 signs are required to be physically posted on the building/property, correct?

Assuming all the 'who owns what blah, blah' completely meets 30.06 requirements. does a website announcing "no firearms allowed" need to be in strict compliance with the 30.06 signage specifications?

AFAIK, it's a privately owned facility, and yes(again AFAIK) it needs to meet 30.06 for it to be valid in written format. So, as I understand the law, the website doesn't meet requirement and doesn't hold _legal_ water.

Wookie asked a similar question about the Houston Grand Prix.
I found that answer at their website in about 30 seconds too.

You guys are getting REALLY lazy!!!

Actually, I think you are. That property is owned by harris county. Effective notice under 30.06 can't be given. The relevant question is if it's a professional sporting event.
