If I had a last meal huh? I will have to get back to you on that one. As far as favorite eats I like the Hunan chef in Cedar Park. My last meal would be the chef special beef.

There are a lot. I like Lonesome Dove in Fort Worth. Kind of expensive, but nice atmosphere and great food. On the cheap-o side, I like Lucille's in Fort Worth. Everything from a grilled cheese, to prime rib. Good martini's too.

Last meal would be Oceanaire in Dallas, or better yet, Commanders Palace in New Orleans. Yeah, I know that's not local or even Texas, but if it's my last meal, the least they can fly my butt down there.

Great place in Houston near Gulfgate is Tel-Wink. A noisy diner with great food, great prices too.

    Is that by 888?

My last meal would be at Casa Garay. Bowl of menudo, side of onions / sliced serano peppers / sliced lemon, and two orders of corn tortillas. May as well throw in a Negra Modelo.

They've recently moved, thanks Metro , up the street a mile. Was at Fulton and Cavalcade, just east of 45 before you get to 610 on the north side.

My favorite Austin Haunts by Category:

Burgers - Dans Hamburgers, cus they got the best greasy burger and great o-rings.
    Mexican Food - Enchiladas Y'Mas
American Food (various items on menu) - Threadgills Downtown cus they got lots o'good veggies and yummy mac and cheese.

Ohhh I almost forgot Hoover's Home Cooking, great place...

Last meal would have to be big t-bone with fully loaded baked potatoe, and lettuce wedge with fresh maters, and homemade yeast rolls,,,,,not sure where to get this, but it sure sounds good. Oh and homemade bread puddin with whiskey sauce....

The best burger in town, hands-down, is Dan's or Fran's.

Hut's has a good selection of burgers, and is pretty darn good as well. I like to atmosphere of Hut's, it's very much an Americana dinner spot.

Katz's beef bacon is worth it's weight in gold. I love that place for some late night Big Business Breakfast chow down. Scrambled eggs with cheese, generous heap of beef bacon, bagel with creme cheese and strawberry jam, mmhmm.

Blue Bonnet Cafe in Marble Falls has been a favorite car cruise stop for us for years. They have a good breakfast, and have some big ol' pies.

Kreuz's, in Lockhart, has the best sausage on the face of the Earth.

El Gallo on Congress serves up some good Tex-Mex. I usually get the enchiladas in red sauce, or sometimes I opt for the tomatillo or green sauce.

Kirby Lane Cafe has the best queso blanco on earth. It's so thick and tasty. Gotta love it.

I forgot about Katz's that is some good late night food, it also reminded me of the Hoffbrau is you like a down and dirty cheap steak....

if your going out of town, don't forget about Coopers Bar-B-Q in Llano....and you are right about Bluebonnet, can't find a better slice of pie, especially if you like calf slobber on it

    I'll switch gears on y'all.

Kiku Gardens in Harker Heights puts together a righteous platter of sushi, and the service is outstanding. Quick, polite, and best of all, attentive. You may not notice, but those girls are watching you like a hawk. By the time you lift your head and start to look for a server, she's already heading your way, and usually with the item you were going to ask for.

"Well, that kills that beer, I think I'll --- oh, yes, thank you very much."

The Wagon Wheel Cafe in Lometa has some pretty tasty grub, not to mention their home-made onion rings.

Is Kiku all you can eat? My lady and I have been looking for a good sushi buffet...

I'll agree with Dan's or Fran's now, But there was a place called Daddy's in Cedar Park that would blow them out of the water any day. Sadly they shut down. But they were great when they were open.

Just read another review on this place the other day and one person said they drive over 250 miles round trip to eat at Mary’s. . . I grew up close by and the place has been there since I was a kid and my next birthday I will be 60 years old. . . about the best CFS in north Texas!. . . Forgot to mention, they have cold beer too!!!
