WTF Am I on special list to be summoned for jury duty at least once a year? Yeah I am supposed to do this as an upstanding citizen but GD they keep dragging me through this process. I swear this time I am going to explain that I am a weirdo of sorts and try real hard to act crazy.

The BIG reason that this sucks is that it is on Nov 25th. I have a deer hunt scheduled for that entire week - non refundable.

    What excuse did you use?

I told them that I was already scheduled to be out of town and that money was non refundable. That wasn't made up it is the truth. I did the request on line and they got back to me the same day. In my experience with this, they will work with you. If at all possibly they will not inconvenience you, you will just be rescheduled.

I get called for jury duty all the time. I guess it's what I get for being one of the few non-felons in a county of only 33K people.

I very rarely get selected though. Wonder why.

They're reschedule you. Don't know about suit and tie jury duty. But at the county level it doesn't take much of any excuse.

This time it is the local city court.

Maybe I need to dirty up my record some. I am as clean as can be.

Jury duty, while an inconvenience, is something we all should be proud of. Think of yourself if you were ever in a situation where you needed a jury, and you KNOW none of them want to be there... Scary thought if you ask me.

Yeah yeah I know but I am getting called in waaaayyy too much. Also, I have seen a few get railroaded anyways. The other scary one/place was Denton county. Their version of TSA goons at the front door is something to be witnessed lol.

Absolutely. But the responsibility should be shared a little.

Try getting a probate out of Denton County. You have to pass the TSA type goons at the door (those asses you mentioned), then you go upstairs to a whole new set of goons who you have to speak to through a glass window, who treat you like a criminal and who never get in a hurry about anything.

Any time my research takes me to Denton I get sick to my stomach thinking about how much it's going to suck.
