A 45-year-old Rockport man was treated and released for minor injuries received during a reported armed robbery Wednesday afternoon.

Rockport police were called to a residence in the 600 block of E. King at 4:14 p.m. When they arrived they found David Wilson had received a stab wound to the left chest area.

Commander Jerry Lawing said Wilson appeared to have been stabbed with a pocketknife, or a similar object.

Lawing said two Hispanic males reportedly approached Wilson asking for assistance with a disabled vehicle. Wilson then retrieved his keys, but when he returned the suspects demanded his wallet. A fight ensued and the suspects fled on foot, leaving the wallet behind.

Law enforcement officials from the Rockport Police Department, Aransas County Sheriff’s Office, and the Department of Public Safety searched for the suspects for a couple of hours.

    Nobody was apprehended.

Lawing said Wilson was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital, treated, and released.

Sure a lot of red tape, lawyers, and other aggravation when somebody kills one of those thieving criminals, be a lot nicer if the Police chief could just say, Hell, he needed killing......

The police do... LOL. It's the rest of the system that has issues.
