    600/300=2 not 200

So I listen to talk radio a fair bit, namely wsb out of atlanta, in recent days I've heard 5+ different callers on various programs.

"obamacare website cost ~612 million dollars, there are only ~300 million americans, they could've just given everyone 2 million dollars"

Only one host has even bothered to correct the person in question.

These are probably the same people bitching about birth certificates no doubt.

Are you expecting someone to say that they are in favor of spending 600 million on a defunct website for an even more defunct program? It sure sounds like you are supporting the program from your wording. Even if they gave everyone $2 it would be better than all the money it is going to COST America. I'll take a $2 profit over a loss anyday.

What does lack of math ability have to do with having a president who cant produce a legit birth certificate or college transcripts?

    Just Curious.

Yeah, its funny that libs will call for more extensive background checks and ask me to provide ID to purchase a firearm that is my right under the 2nd Amendment yet it is called "bitching" to ask the commander in chief to show his birth certificate before commanding one of the most powerful military forces on the planet.

It' s like the with the Trillion dollar stimulus. They could have just given everyone a million, and saved a whole lot of money

Hell no I'm not in favor of anything this jackass does but come this is 3rd grade level stuff. If your going to critcize someone it helps to make sure your not proving your own incompetence in the process

Because most of the folks saying that and this sound like they have the same level of critical thinking skills.

With regards to that debacle its a moot point and not worth getting your panties in bunch, his mom was a citizen and he's been elected by a majority twice... unfortunately.

Just curious, I haven't really kept up with it, but what/who is obamacare affecting exactly? Besides Health insurance providers/Docs?
eventually everyone, that is the goal. it will limit what docs can charge which will run them out of business. also effect the hospitals on getting paid. drug industry, all aspects of healthcare

    1. My paties are not in a bunch.
    2. His mom's citizenship has no bearing on his eligibility to be President. It is his place of birth that is in question.
    3. While it is a moot point at this time, it a good example of how deceitful and manipulative this administration is. Every previous president has been very forthcoming with college records and birth certificates. In this presidents case we can't even find anyone he allegedly went to college with. Quite odd to say the least. Typically people who attended school with a president of the United Staes will line up to tell you their views on him.

It is really a crapshoot right now depending on your health, location, and current insurance plan. 300,000 got cancellation notices in florida yesterday. Most preople can expect some level of rate hikes, high end plans are going to be hit with a very high tax rate ~50%. Its more involved but that is the cliff notes version.

The end game is single payer, several democrats have openly stated this.

Are they trying to open the market on Small business healthcare providers? I'll be honest, something had to be done about the 'Current' Medical field. There's too many people being screwed over as it is (always have) but if it mean less jobs and more taxes then something isn't right about this either. We spend a lot of money on people who get health care and then don't pay leaving federal funding to cover the bill.Since there's no competition in the Insurance market then docs and insurance companies can name their price on everything, and that's not good either. I got a letter three months ago saying my insurance might even go down some. (12 dollars) What if its big corporations hiking these rates up to make up for lost future profits?

Exactly, despite them denying this during the time the bill was being debated. American health care as we know it will now degrade pretty quickly. Stipulations in the ACA are almost draconian in some cases. they have come right out and said that healthy people who are paying 100% higher preminums is ok, as long as the poor and uninsured get coverage. Oh, and you have no choice in the matter. You will comply and purchase this product regardless of the price or if you can afford it.
Having the Fedearl Government eventually controlling 100% of American's health care should scare the crap out of rational people.

I completely agree something needs to be done with the healthcare system, sadly the republicans squandered their chance at any reform under dubyah and we are stuck with the mess the dems pushed through.

The "market place" is for individuals and self-employed that do not have healthcare through an employer. It is still state by state as the law did not address the ability to buy across state line. The federal market place is a hub for individual federally operated state specific market places.

There is some competition among insurance companies, but employers generally don't give a damn to much. I'm not very into class warfare rhetoric but frankly the CEOs just listen to some insurance salesman and says okay then all the employees are sacked with whatever company is chosen and whatever crappy plans are available, similar to the rampant 401(k) plans with very high associated fees that take a chunk out of your retirement. The owner of the company, while good intentioned usually, does a crap job often times looking for a good plan, be it retirement or health insurance.

One of the larger immediate issues with the O'care is the mandating of what insurance needs to cover. A young healthy person just needs something to cover them in case they come down with cancer and are racking up 100k medical bills out of no where and just pay out of pocket for some some cold medicine every other year or so. Such policies like that with a very low monthly premiums but high deductibles are effectively killed now. All plans must now cover a vast variety of things, that may or may not needed. A plan covering prostate exams being purchased by a 20 year old for example.

Additionally companies will no longer to deny people with a per-existing condition, good for them, bad for most of us. Pretty much you can be lazy never buy insurance then just go buy it after your diagnosis. This on its face value "can't happen" because of the mandate everyone must buy insurance in the first place. Well the penalty for not purchasing is much cheaper than buying insurance so there is no true incentive for buying if you don't want to. In light of that to an extent yes the companies are raising their rates to hedge against future losses.

They also have reduced how much you can contribute to your HSA. Placed a tax on the manufacture on medical devices, and O has granted something like 1500 exemptions from the law to various companies and individuals, along with congress exempting themselves.

Ultimately like most things it all goes back to government interference of the free market with wage freezes during WWII and the beginning of your health insurance being tied to employment rather than individual marketplace like car insurance.

As I understand the written law, a person born to an American mother is an American. Actual place of birth doesn't matter. If you can point me to something that says otherwise, please do, because I did my own research on the matter and this is the conclusion that I arrived at independently.

Google is your friend. President must be a natural born (in the U.S.) citizen. Doesn't matter about his mother, brother, father, cousins, etc.

When a tyrannical government takes over 1/6th of the worlds largest leading economy, EVERYONE is affected.
