Below is a picture of a river otter hit on the road near Waco. I stopped to look and thought it was a beaver. They are appearing more in Texas.

    Thought they were called nutria(sp).

Seen a couple in Lake whitney that we figured had wondered down from the Brazos when it got real low.

I was up in NE Tennessee last year ATV'n at Royal Blue WMA. We camped by a river and I was cleaning something, I don't recall what. But I was wiping it off and it had a grain so there was this high pitched ZIP sound as I quickly wiped it. I caught something out of the corner of my eye and it was a River Otter. Just standing there 5' from me tryin' to figure out WTH I was doing. I watched him for a couple minutes outta the corner of my eye. When I stopped and spoke to him he took off. One of the better memories from a great trip.

They've been here for years but were hunted to hell. I called TPWD a few years ago about killing some that have been trying to kill dogs/attack people. They are all over the area here I saw 4 dead ones in a 20 foot section of road a while back

That is not a nutria. Nutria have a different tail, and some scary teeth. And different body shape, more rat like with longer legs.

    Gunz are icky.
Those will eat all the fish out of a body of water in days.
Pray that the little eating machines never get into your favorite fishing hole.
