Stay out of DFW this weekend.
It is a training area for every department with a gun.
    From the page:
The North Central Texas Region is conducting a comprehensive multi-discipline, multi-jurisdictional full-scale exercise. The overarching goal for this exercise is to increase proficiency levels in identified target capabilities and enhance regional response to large-scale incidents. This exercise is designed to assess the region’s ability to successfully respond to and manage multiple terrorist events and other emergencies occurring simultaneously throughout the region.

Don't be alarmed, they are just training.

while i dont agree with the last ones they did with MG firing from helicopters, its training like this that does help with many issues. compare training from when Columbine went down to school shootings now. were not looking at one on one incidents any more, its people blowing up marathon runners then leaving the scene.

Ft Hood has mock towns. However, part of the training is getting the guys used to maneuvering in their own environment. They did one similar to this in Austin a few months back. I just wish we could get more photos from these.

There SHOULD be enough armed citizens in any Texas city to cut down any terrorists that show up. If there aren't, it's a failure on our part.

I don't believe for one second that they are running these drills to help combat terrorism. I believe there is only one purpose and that is to make sure they are set up to come after US citizens if they decide to resist the next installment of socialism.

Flying around in helicopters and firing MGs? How many freakin' terrorists are they planning to have show up?

And as far as "how much better" they've done, all you have to do is look at the mess in Boston that 2 guys created. The cops and Homeland Security tore the town apart, violated hundreds of people's rights, and still couldn't get both suspects until some guy spotted one in his boat and called it in. Even then it took a terribly long time to get him out.

Are you talking about the one where it was leaked that intel indicated an actual terrorist plot, which was later denied?
I would be suspicious of any drill going down in my neck of the woods.

The exercise is being run by a company called the Cytel Group, Inc.
Here is an article from a volunteer that participated in their Urban Shield exercise in Austin.

Boston PD is convinced that the Cytel Group was instrumental in getting them prepared before the marathon bombing. It is on their homepage:

I would like to point out that many other first responders will be participating in this exercise other than LEOs. Not to argue anybody's point that they're trying to make but EMS, Fire Departments, emergency/crisis management, Red Cross, technical speacialist, and so on are also involved in these type of exercises as they all play a significant role in any large scale incident. There is a similar type of drill, though on a smaller scale that is carried out at DFW airport routinely that involves many of the same entities.

On Sept 10, 2001, who thought the military would be told to shoot down american airliners being used by terrorists as missles?

To what mess in Boston are you referring? I would just love to hear your detailed plan for such incidents.

    That's what it is. Trust.
I don't trust what is going on with this. The more I research it, the less I like it.
I have got nothing against law enforcement. I've got nothing against law enforcement agencies training with other agencies.
It just gets my spidey senses tingling when a private company, funded by homeland security, is conducting the training. And the congressman from Alameda (home to Cytel) is extolling the benefits of Urban Shield training. Same congressman (Swalwell) that is on the committee for homeland security.
Maybe I need to take off my tinfoil hat. Spending too much time on the internet and looking for black helicopters will do that to you.

Not trying to be controversial, but what did they do in Boston in getting the two suspects that couldn't have been accomplished by the local police department?

I've attended many courses, classes, exercises, or whatever ya wanna call 'em over the years. A large number of them were owned and operated by individuals that had previously worked in my profession. They became experts in whatever field during their tenure and after leaving the job found a place to continue doing what they knew while making a nice post retirement salary. Not to say thats what's going on with this Cytel company but something to consider any how.

Saw a little black helicopter fly over / near my house a couple times yesterday. Never seen this one before. Didn't see any rain of bullet casings flying out like was reported in Houston.

Yes-I am. The same one that was announced weeks ahead of time (I believe in this forum) and then after it started, a tin foil hat forum decided to spread rumors about it being a terrorist plot because of some event going on in Austin at the time. I literally watched the whole thing unfold and was right there debunking it with two links from before it happened that were letting people know it was coming.

Guess what-its veterans day weekend. I guarantee somebody will try to start another scare rumor about this being another foiled terrorist attack.
