I thought this was really interesting, and says a lot about Voters and their perceptions of who is electable. I posted this on another forum, Got 3 positive remarks and one questionable (The Questionable commented "THIS THREAD WON'T GO FAR"). Sad, when you take a stand for Constitution, G-d, family values, true equality you get branded as something less than human.

What's funny is I saw this on a couple other "non-biased" media outlets and they're actually holding him at fault for being deceptive, he never actually claimed or said "hey I'm a black guy". The so called "experts" weighed in and concluded it was not based soley on race, they added that the board had been in disarray for some time and that was a contributing factor. That's all on the voters and no one else, period.

Let's ignore the racism thing and pretend that had nothing to do with it. So, they voted for a man that lived near us and a man that was endorsed by somebody else. Perhaps if they (the voters) had voted for that man because he believed in cutting this, changing that, or shifting financial resources here or there, then they wouldn't be in this situation.

What on earth would the politically correct people of the world say if some white candidate said "This isn't fair - he beat me because he made people think he was white."? I'm thinking the world would be in an uproar.

Obama has been convincing people he's black for years. I say good on him for using the liberal's playbook against them.

Here maybe this illustration will help clarify the dynamic we're witnessing.

They were talking about this on WOAI this morning. The idiot on the radio said something along the lines of, "if a black person had pretended to be white and done the same thing, everybody would be up in arms." No. They wouldn't. The only reason ANYBODY is getting butthurt over this episode is that a white guy did it in a black neighborhood. Reverse the skin tones and it'd be perfectly acceptable.

He never "pretended" to be Black. He just used a bunch of Black People's photographs he found on the internet. Then, he put some captions under their visages, and ... wait for it ... fooled a majority Black district to vote for him.

He knew how his district voted -- purely by race, and he conned them fair and square. He also knew that the 24-Year incumbent was only known for the color of his skin. Deception works.

Snake oil still sells in this day and age.

Lol what's hilarious is that these news organizations are basically saying its news that a politician lead you to infer something incorrect.

If you like it, you can keep it.

I have the same last name as A WHOLE LOT of black folks. I always wondered what would happen if I "accidentally" checked the "African American" box on job applications. In my line of work it's not uncommon to do the whole interview process over the phone and get hired before anyone actually sees you in person. I've often wondered if I'd be let go as soon as they found out I wasn't black (and tried to fire me over a minor clerical mistake on my application), and if I'd have a decent discrimination lawsuit on my hands if that happened. And if I could rinse and repeat that process over and over getting paid to punish racists who only hired me because they thought I was black and then wanted to fire me after they found out I wasn't. Sad world we're living in when a guy like me even thinks about that.

Just don't check a box, or if it's available, check the decline to state box.

Wait, is it even legal to ask someone's ethnicity on a job application?

Yeah it's the same box that's on every job application and you can decline to answer, (though that's probably tantamount to admitting you're white and paranoid about affirmative action, since no one else stands to lose anything (and probably stands to gain) by declaring that they are a minority) But I often wonder how that information is really used (and how many jobs I might have been hired or at least interviewed for if I had listed myself as black.)

In the higher education system they collect the same data, and discrimination against whites is legal under affirmative action laws (There's a case in the supreme court right now from UT Austin where some white chick got passed over and was not admitted to UT because she wasn't a minority, but still had higher grades than other minorities who got in.) But yeah I think it is illegal for them to ask you about your ethnicity (and about 5-6 other things -age, marital status, sexual preference, etc) in the actual interview. But they are still required to try to collect demographic/ethnicity data on all applications for those who choose to volunteer it. At least that's my limited understanding of it. The whole thing is screwy as hell and makes no sense to me. Asking people what color/race they are as part of the application process is racism pure and simple. Under the banner of "equality" and "fairness", just like every other Orwellian way the left tries to label/describe what they do as the total opposite of what it really is.

    Anyway... [/soapbox]
