Why not ban charcoal BBQ's? How about diesel trucks too? That would be a bitch to not have any damn food on the table because of that one huh? What would the govt do, replace trucks with a bunch of f***ing Vespas?

Sounds like a load of government bullshit. These idiots in Washington have no clue what this is going to mean for people in Alaska. Not only is it difficult to get heating fuel, diesel, or propane delivered out off the grid but it is ridiculously expensive. When you're talking about having to burn it for at least 7 months of the year, that really adds up. Add to the fact that you're having to get whatever fuel source flown in or figure out a way to haul it in and you just compounded the problem. When you live in an area surrounded by natural fuel it only makes sense to burn firewood. This is going to place alot of unnecessary hardship on alot of people. Are we really claiming soot from a wood stove is so bad that its worth banning? I'm no environmental expert but I'm sure there are plenty of worse things contaminating our air.

How is this different than the built in fireplaces that are in so many homes? At least a wood burning stove does a much better job of giving off heat to the room.

I'm pretty sure Alaska will push back on this. Wood burning stoves are a staple of living up there for a large percentage of the state and without them a number of people would die from exposure.
