New to buying out side of the Houston area and I'm told I need to have my purchase sent to an individual with an FFL. Is there a process for locating someone with an FFL? Not comfortable asking a shop to accept my purchase when they sell firearms. Thanks, Ed.

Just ask. All they can say is no, or quote a high price. Fils doing transfers is the new norm. Price should be no more than $25, and many do it for less. My go to guy in DFW charges $10 with CHL. There's a thread here someplace that lists FFLs in various Texas cities

+1..... Don't let them tell you it's going to cost more then $25. If they do, find someone else.

    Maybe these will help

Thank you for the information, several are within 5 miles of my house. I had no idea and how reasonable it is to have something transferred. Again, thanks. Ed

May be late to the party but Ryan of TexasGun-Forum/Hovel/Blog are $10 w/ a CHL. He is off Stubener Airline just north of 1960. Easy transaction, just have to make an appointment.

Ask a Class 3 dealer. They're used to doing transfers for customers already.

I think Texas Tactical Gear charges $25 for normal guns and $50 for Class 3 transfers and they go to all the Houston gun shows. Maybe could ask them to bring your gun to the show and pick up mags, ammo, etc... get it all at the same time.

I had Houston Gun Forum do a couple for $10, but it's an hour to drive there and another hour back. End up paying the same in gas money as a more expensive place.
