    OK TGT Gun Nuts,

I have put a lot of work into a website that I am hoping will put a new twist on competition shooting. The idea of the site (roughly) is to engage competition shooters all over the state and allow them to come together online and be able to "challenge" each other (or challenge other teams) and be able to compete. This is going to be unique in the sense that the challenger can be any where in the state, shoot from any range, and shoot at any time. To start it is going to be friendly honor based shoots and eventually I will be able to build up the process enough where I will have local meets that will shoot and then will be able to compete for prizes and money. I have already lined up some support from a vendor for optics, too. The idea is that you will submit the results of your shoot, the winner will be announced, and then the website will keep track of your standings and rankings for you. So You will be able to see you ranking in your region locally, and eventually even statewide. Right now it's a basic website with bugs and such and I need to get some people to actually join up and test it out so I can see what I need to work on and what process issues I will have. It is an extreme work in progress and I am not website developer so believe me, it's rough, but it's coming along. And will only get better once I get things rolling. I will plan to give away some type of optic at the beginning of next year to a lucky beta tester winner. I haven't figured out what that'll be yet, but it will probably be a mid grade red dot, scope or something similar (valued in the $300 range is kinda the limit the vendor gave me).

If you are interested and want to try it out and be on the ground floor of something that will be an up an coming website in the Texas firearms community, let me know. As the site builds I will be looking for moderators from all over the state to be able to assist with matches, local set ups, regulating matches, and of course participate in tournaments. I expect if things work out to how I have planned, it will be a pretty fun set up.

    Cheers!

That sounds like fun, too bad I'm not in Texas. If I was living in Texas, would I enter by posting pics of my shot groups and distance they were shot from?

No worries about that. I'm actually going to set up a ladder that's just for fun so people that want some casual competition or aren't near any one can still have at it (and get things like t-shirts or random stuff). You'd still count for the BETA drawing (if we get enough people on board) because that won't be anything but random for those who help me out.

The idea is exactly that actually. You would challenge someone and set the terms (game, yardage, etc.) and then you would both shoot, then upload you pics, and both would agree upon the winner and would post who won. The script I am using will give you points based off that and you will be ranked on the site. The more you challenge (and win) the higher your ranking m

I remember you telling me about this at hicksville and have been waiting to see it. Count me in!

Cool. I'm working on some quick things right now and should be able to create log ins for everyone. I my actually have you guys try it out from scratch to make sure I have the sign up stuff done correctly.

I am interested. Like you said...it seems like it could be a good way for a casual shooter to have some light competition experience without getting too deep into leagues and schedules etc.

    Handgun and long gun?

Yes. In theory I could set it up for any thing (paintball, air soft, bolt or arrow, etc.) but I don't know how much interest there really will be in this before I put that much into it. For now it's going to be pistols, rifles, and I want to do shottys as well.

Sounds Good.... can I play even though I don't live in Texas?

Absolutely. Any TGT member, regardless of locale, will be welcome. Once BETA is done and it's pretty much up and running (I imagine it's going to still be a work in progress for some time) I will likely have a ladder for anyone to join. Although anything like a tournament would prove difficult, but that is ways away. I haven't really figured out the best concept yet (right now I have it set up as regions to start, but I don't know if that's how it'll stay). I am still getting used to the format of the way the script was written because it was actually written for the online gaming industry, and the developer is in the UK. I think I am going to just have a constant "open ladder" that will just be on going, and then break it down into regions for those that actually want to meet up and start doing some of the games in person (like for tournaments where you can win larger prizes and such).

I am almost done getting the permissions done. I only have one target game for the virtual world challenge completed so far (didn't realize how in depth it would actually be to get those going). It's a simple one and as I get better, and more people join and provide input, so too will the games.

That's exactly the purpose. It puts another spin on range shooting. Like a league without having to fork over $100 + for it. I would be into more competing locally, but it's either really expensive, really far, or just really limited. I am sure that many others (unless you live close to something like Best of the West or something) fall into that same category like me.

    Do me a favor.
Dont pull a healthcare.gov on us.

    lol!

Man, you don't know how funny this is! I just spent the better part of the last 3 hours fixing it. I deleted something I shouldn't have! It kicked me out and I couldn't get in!

Almost done with getting stuff. Fixed. I opened up registration and immediately got flooded by spam. I'm working on a solution there. Kinda?

OK folks try it out. I had to work out something (spam bots suck) and I'm really not sure if I got it right. Let's hope. You should be able to register now (once and it should work for both the main site and the forums. Look for anything that says BETA and that should be what's opened. All input is welcomed (albeit not necessarily followed).
