Has anyone ever tried a Benelli R1 in comparison to a Kimber rifle? The Benelli one is semi-automatic, but can shoot 300 WIN Magnums and has standard Benelli features (comfort tech etc).

The Kimber should be far more accurate than the Benelli just due to the fact its a bolt gun. I've only shot one Kimber rifle and it was a .22lr the owner bought it and was impressed enough to get rid of his fully modified 10/22 and buy another one.

I can't speak to the Benelli, but the Kimber 8400 Classic in 300 WSM I have has taken a lot of game with one shot and it a fine rifle. I'm a fan of Kimber. Beneilli has a great reputation but I have no experience with them.

The R1 is supposedly a very accurate rifle, I read an article about it once. The review was good, 8400 is a historically accurate rifle and I believe what Kimbers tactical sniper rifles are based on. But I have never shot either on I just thought I'd drop in and tell you about the review article said about the R1.

    .

+1 here. I have not personally shot a Kimber rifle, but I own several of their 1911's and I love them. No way and out of the box auto will be as accurate as a good bolt gun.

Absolutely. Kimber being a bolt for sure more accurate but overpriced for what you get. Serious long range guys use Ga Precision etc... but veru expensive

Lot of things way overpriced for what you get. Buy the best you can afford and what feels good and you can shoot comfortably and accurately. Most rifles shoot better than the guy pulling the trigger anyway. Confidence is key.
