Scary Dream

Ever have scary dreams that your weapons wont function when you need em? I had one last night where my shotgun wouldn't cycle when i needed it and I've had a couple where my AK wouldn't go bang. Dose anyone else get these or am I just a gun nut.

Sometimes they won't function and sometimes I shoot and shoot and it has no effect. I hate those dreams!

When I was still in High School I used to have one pretty regular where someone was breaking in to my parent's house and I shot at them through the screen door with a .22lr and they laughed, I then picked up my 12 gauge and fired. I would always wake up when I saw the flash. I never knew wether or not it was effective. Haven't had that dream in over 30 years, watch me have it tonight after bringing it up. LOL

I'm one boring guy. My dreams are usually about work. Even last night, I had a dream that I ran into an old customer.

when I was in the Army I always had a dream where I ran out of ammo....that maybe why I keep so much around now

the only one i've had was actually about guns AND work(which happens to be a gun store haha)

my dream was that cabela's was on the TX/Mexico border, and that a bunch of drug runners kidnapped a few coworkers. then me and another guy loaded up with some black rifles and a couple handguns. went across the border and got them back. weirdest dream i've had to date

I remember when I started carrying, I'd have these dreams occasionally where I was being attacked and trying to draw from some impossibly awkward position, or I had the gun in my hand and pointed, but the trigger was incredibly heavy and slow. I've seen threads like this before too on other boards. I guess it has something to do with seriously contemplating and being prepared to take another man's life to protect your own.

I've had dreams where someone would be breaking into my house and holding a small stick (like a twig or something) threatening to kill me

When I worked for whataburger I would have dreams of giant hamburgers chasing me... talk about odd

I used to live on the south Side of Chicago. I had a reoccuring nightmare, where i would get shot in the gut. The pain in my dream was intense...I would wake up to find out it was just bad gas , LOL.

I used to have the 50 lb D/A trigger dreams. After shooting IPSC for about a year, I had the dream that I had a shoot out with 4 guys. I took cover and double tapped each one and actually won the gun fight. No more dreams.

I think those dreams are your subconcious mind telling you your skills are not yet adequate. Train hard and the dreams will go away.

yeah, ive had those dreams myself. infact a few nights ago i had one where i couldnt fire a new shotgun. it was the weirdest thing.
i open the action and looked inside and there was a freshly dead mouse that hade gotte its midsection chambered when i went to rack the gun.
cant remember much more than that, but it was weird.
but the best dreams come after watching about 10 james bond flicks back to back after going out to shoot, and falling asleep during the movie binge.

Wolfwood, that is wierd.

My dream usually have me missing most of the shots, even when I know they should hit.

And I usually get shot. My dreams don't have any particular time era either. I've been shot (in my dreams) with a rifle, pistol, and a musket. . . . .Weird huh?

I've not gotten to the point where I have dreams about my weapon not firing. I joined this site in June of '09 and am new to the handgun scene. About three weeks into this I dreamed that I was in a hunting/sports store looking for ammo. The only ammo on the shelf was 9mm. The brand name was "Annie Oakley Ammunition." I grab a few boxes and head out. Mind you...I'm about five weeks into the handgun world and now I'm dreaming about it! Caught me by surprise. Definitely not what I want to be dreaming about!

had a dreamw here there was a gunfight in a surreal old west setting and i was challenged to a gunfight ina s aloo. but it was more of "comon lets go out and have a quick draw match. itl be fun"
but there was two of the guys so i went off and went fro a drive with a freind of mine, and tried to conince him to come along.
but his wife owuldnt let him. wtf?
point being i ended up getting shot in the back.
