Thinking about using Gunkote on my current build, for those of you that have used it, worked with it or had it applied what is your opinion of it?

Do you have to "sandblast" a Billet upper and lower to cerakote an AR?
Id have to source cerakote out if I'll need to blast them.

The option to do it at home is a plus, I was looking at Durakote, but the foliage Gunkote looks to match the magpul foliage closer.

Yes sandblasting is required. Remember, duracoat and gunkote are enamel based. Cerakote, ceramic based. Gunna be a LOT tougher

Correct, just trying to sort out if my desire to do everything at home out weighs the cost of a good cerakote job, I know I could do cerakote at home, but I don't have a sandblasting chamber, or the extra funds to buy one.

I used to cerakote from my garage. It isn't worth it in time and set up cost. Pay to have someone do it.
