I was just reading up on that new round, the .327 Magnum made by Federal premium as well as Ruger's new SP101 chambered for it.

I would like this gun as my nightstand gun. Seems like a good round and gun for home defense.

I've been looking at one of these too. My wife carries a S&W 431PD in 32 H&R Magnum because she's a good shot with it and it has manageable recoil. The ballistics on this little beauty are very close to the .38 Special but the .327 Magnum seems even more impressive.

It'll probably be expensive to shoot.

Will it stand the test of time as well as the .45acp? Personally I really cannot see a reason for any new caliber.

I feel the same way, you don't hear anyone praising the what a great round the 45 gap is anymore
