I am interested to see how people carry in their vehicles. Anyone have a custom spot built to stash a gun? Anything other that a bolt action and a shotgun in the back window?

I carry in between the seat and the console, kind of on my seat rail everyday. Nothing special!

Center console just laid in there and an extra magazine laid in there. A custom holster on the front of the seat would be cool but I got a bunch of other shit to worry about like surviving the 0bama economy.

Just put it in the console. If things look shady in an area it might move under my leg.

Haven't seen anywhere to put anything "custom" that would be legal and provide any faster access.

I highly recommend a small compact pistol for vehicle carry, preferably ruger 380 carried concealed in a small crossdraw. If you are right handed, crossdraw and firearm will be alongside drivers door and concealed with jacket or other clothing removed. Quick retrieval is key as well as safety. I would try and stay away from between the legs unholstered.

Not sure why I am wasting electrons with this post, but why on earth would it be preferable to carry a compact .380 when you have an entire vehicle to keep it out if plain view?

If anything I'd carry a full size in my vehicle. The only reason to downsize a handgun is to conceal it on your person better.

I have a steel security console made by Tuffy for a handgun, and sometimes carry a rifle in the back under the seat. Looking to buy a steel security console for under the rear seat as well.

ETA: I did have to modify my vehicle by switching out the console. New one is bolted all the way through the floor.

My question is; why? To make it easier to retrieve while driving? I suppose you could just remove your concealed handgun and stash it in the console/between the seat/etc.

I carry one pistol both on my property and in my vehicle. When I leave my house it goes with me... return home it goes with me. I have an aftermarket soft center console on my truck bench seat... just a square nylon "box" with pockets... and the pistol is hidden in one of the pockets. No need for anything complex.

I prefer not to leave a weapon in my vehicle when it is unattended, so the only time I have one while driving is when it is on my person. That way when I leave the vehicle, it leaves with me. Most of the time I just continue whatever concealed carry set-up I am using. Why it may be slightly more cumbersome to draw, I don't find accessing my firearm to be that much harder than if I have it stored somewhere.

Depending on the situation, sometimes I do lift my shirt up over my pistol when I am using a hip holster, just for quicker access if necessary. I just make sure to cover it back up when I stop or if I get pulled over...
