I like to get stuff from GT's.
Theres also a little known place called Austin Gun Liquidators. I think the exact address is Pflugerville though, it is off of I 35 near SH45.

Is the Gun Liquidators the new shop off Picadilly? I have heard there is some place over there but have yet to visit. I hear the proprietor used to work at GT. I probably know him. I will try to get there this week and let y'all know.

I really like GT Distributing. I went to Cabelas for some Speer Gold Dot 9mm ammo and they had it on sale for $23 for 20 rounds. I was amazed. I went to GT the next day and picked up Speer Gold Dot 9mm for $24 for 50 rounds. Makes you think huh?

I've also did FFL transfers there as they are only $25 which is pretty reasonable. I've purchased holsters (Kydex) and my favorite brand flashlight, Streamlight. They have the best prices in town.

    Yeah Scott.
Ive heard mixed reviews about him. I had good personal experiences with him until recently. I was at GT's and he came in jabbering with some of the employees. While I was checking out he was a smart _ _ _ to me, while he was a CUSTOMER of GT's. He did not remember me being a customer of his a few months earlier.
Very minor in my mind because professionally, when I bought my guns, he was good to go.

I usually go to John's Guns in Bastrop. Very friendly folks. Mom and pop operation. One of those places you can stand around and joke and insult one another and no one gets PO'ed. You know the kind of place I'm talking about.

I'm a fan of The Gun Shop in Cedar Park ... have bought several handguns there, owner David Cheung and his employees are very sharp and helpful, prices are a bit high if compared to gun shows but pretty normal for smaller shops ... it's in a strip mall off non-toll 183 at Buttercup Creek.

I like that place. John is friendly, but not in the "Hi how may I help you today?" kind of way. Somewhat gruff but he'll answer your questions honestly, which is becoming rare these days. His wife is also extremely knowledgeable about everything in the shop. Always, "If you want to look at anything back here (behind counter) just let me know" I usually end up striking up a conversation with customers there too.

He's always got a good rotation of stuff coming in of new and used.

I've been to McBrides 3 times and each time the guys behind the counter treated me like crap. I don't know maybe it's the vibe I give off, too "noob" for them I guess. Don't they realize I have money too? Not everyone wants another semi-auto pistol or AR15!!

    I miss cost +10%

this john fellow reminds me of the guy at cost+ in austin (closed now).
they had a GREAT consignment portion i used to look at almost every few days. my wife hated that place since i always came home with some new/more guns.

McBrides, good store if you like full retail or know what you want and just give them a blank check or credit card. haha... just joking..well. not really. bought my m1a scope mount there. not a horrible price, but ifyou want it quick (which i did), prepare to pay extra. they do have knowledgeable people there at mcbrides though.

anyone have any feedback on who around Austin has the largest selection of consignment guns (where the asking prices are reasonable?)

I think I drive past there every time I go to Snook. Does it share a building with a gas station? I wanna stop in but they are closed whenever I'm heading through.

Been in there myself - driving through, saw 'em and stopped in. Found a sweet li'l holster for my Mustang there - first one I'd seen in a LONG time (old stock). Price was right, and his wife was very friendly.

It's a good shop. Indeed it's a little pricey, but all his stuff is good.

Heritage Firearms, up at 183 and anderson mill, will gladly order any gun you want for a reasonable price. Their selection in the store is pretty limited, but they only charge a very small mark up to order a gun for you. The staff is pretty knowledgable, and Tom Snell, the owner, is a nice guy and always eager to help. The other guy, Dick, is kind of rough around the edges sometimes, but he's not too bad. tom's a pleasure to do business with though, check em out.

I usually go to GT's if I want something for my pistol but if I need something for my hunting rifle I have to look around and see who has the better price. If it's a hard to find holster or something that is more geared towards openly carrying your pistol GT's has it. They have a great selection of knives and flashlights there to and all at reasonable prices. As far as The Gun Shop in Cedar park I've found them a bit spotty on when they want to be helpful I do swing by there if I'm looking for something mall ninja (LOL JK JK) they do have a pretty good consignment section and there gun prices seem to be on par with the rest of the market. I'll have to look into that place that Burt and robo were talking about to. See I learned something already.

The only problem I have with Heritage is their complete lack of organization and cleanliness. The clutter one notices when walking in the store makes one wonder if you're in a gun store or a storage room behind a flee market. The staff is good, but the selection is sparse, and they could make better use of their slow time by cleaning and organizing than chatting.

McBride's is pricey and the staff can be a touch obnoxious. Some are nice but some give you the evil eye and snarl at you. One guy actually yells at folks who ask a question (if he doesn't think you are a good 'ol boy). The check out women sometimes can't be bothered.

About the checkout ladies, this is true. They always give me the impression that I am burdening them by asking to pay for my stuff. I usually find the prices to be reasonable, and it's near my house.

I've bought 2 used S&W .357's from McBrides, both were $300-$350 and in excellent condition. The sales people were nice and helpful, also had a stash of .380 ammo. Got a box of 50 for $22. They always have a nice used selection.
