Who do you think the texans will draft?
Who do you want them to draft/trade for?

My vote : get Jake Mathews and then whatever the best QB is in the second round. Unlike last year, is a decent QB year.

Yeah, I like those Texans. I think they will pick the A&M quarter back. Johnny Football. At least, he said "they better.... or else".

I could care less ... until they resurrect the Oilers' name.

They are not the only "Texans" in this State.

I'm typically Cowboys and Longhorns first, then ANY other Texas team. Well, that changed when it became near impossible to watch the Cowboys since moving to Houston. Even if the Cowboys are on a different network and different time, they won't show the Cowboys game. I can understand if it was same channel, same time, but it's not.

Houston fan here. The Texan will most likely draft Johnny Manziel. But it wouldn't surprise me to see them trade off their first round pick.

Lifelong Cowboys fan transplanted in Houston. I tolerate the Texans. 0% chance they pick any QB with first pick. I'm guessing Clowney or that OT Stud from Auburn. Not a lot of franchise worthy options this year. I think a lot of teams will wait till mid to late first round before picking up these QBs. There's no real value in the QBs in this draft unless you get them mid to late first and lower. IMO.

I'm curious to see what they do and if they do pick Johnny Football. If for no other reason to put more buts in seats during the games.

Cowboys fan here, through and through. NOT a fair-weather fan like a lot.

I'd like to have some of what you're drinking. I can hardly remember when there was a Cowgirls season that could even be considered fair weather. And yes, I've been following the Cowboys since Dandy.

No one in their right mind would admit it.:stir:
I beg your pardon, sir - you're disparaging my favorite team and my sanity? :p
I'll admit it, even after such a horrendous season (among many), I'm still as much a fan as always. Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised to see them pass on taking a QB at 1:1 and go with Clowney or maybe trade the pick. They've got a lot of holes to fill, and it doesn't matter much who they put back there at QB until the o-line is fixed. The quarterbacks in the draft didn't really show much in the combine - I wouldn't even guess who they'd take until after the pro days and team workouts and the start of free agency. One thing's for sure, Rick Smith had better make the most of this draft. I still think he should have gotten the boot when Kubiak did - the Ed Reed disaster, extending Schaub in the middle of the 2012 season (after which he starting showing signs of what he would be in '13), giving Foster a new deal so early, some iffy draft picks and salary cap issues. Maybe they'll do him like they did Casserly and keep Smith through the draft before showing him the door.

Greg I hope the texans don't pick clowney unless they plan on trading him right away. Clowney took 2013 off and only got 3 sacks and against vandy Georgia and Clemson. I question his work ethic and I wouldn't draft him even if he is fast. I'd stick to lineman or try and trade for a QB.

I agree with your opinion of Clowney - he did not have a good season, and there are many people who question his effort. He's an incredible athlete with lots of ability, but not exactly a workaholic - sounds a lot like Mario Williams to me.

    My thoughts exactly.

Ive got a beer bet that texans won't pick a QB first round. I'm saying they won't.

The deal for Fitzpatrick that was announced today may change that picture somewhat. He's worse than Schaub, and for some reason the Texans are giving him a 2-year deal w/ $4M guaranteed. Signing Fitzpatrick means they pretty much have to get rid of Schaub now, and I think it probably means a deal is already done but not announced with either Oakland or Cleveland. I think this all means they're more likely now to take a QB at 1:1, and supposedly the Texans (and lots of other folks) liked what they saw with Bortles' workout yesterday. Fitzpatrick is almost certainly not going to be our ticket to the postseason, so the only purpose I can see for signing the guy is to mentor a QB they draft and let carry the clipboard for a bit until he learns the offense.

Trade was confirmed. The timing is right with Bortles proday.
I just don't know of they'll pick up a QB Ito start off. My gut says late 1st or second round.

I like this QB class over last year. I want lineman and line backers this draft. I don't like all the talk about safeties and d backs. Building your lines is super important - just ask Mike Irving.

They're going to play their cards close until and during the day of the draft, like most teams not named the Browns will do. The Texans have a valuable commodity in the #1 pick, and they'd better make the most of it or the 2013 season will end up being more of a waste than it already was. I'm really curious to see how Rick Smith does in this draft and see how much influence O'B might have vs. Smith.
